I don't know what he is but it's pretty clear that he doesn't have a solid core fanbase (in hip hop)

Really easy to pull the race card. Can't wait for Mack's own MMLP.

If talentless, empty, generic pieces of human fucking shit like Rick Ross, 2Chainz, Big Sean, Tyga etc get more fucking Hip-Hop props, respect and aren't called pop then I really wouldn't doubt a touch of race issues are evident. And envy.

race has nothing to do with that shit imo... don't forget that a lot of people consider Mac Miller's album to be one of the best albums of 2013 Image

Run The Jewels is praised as a top 2 album of 2013 and guess what ? El-p is white Image

Action Bronson is praised as one of the best up & coming rapper and guess what ? hes white and fatter than biggie Image

yeah but all of them probably have a bigger rap fanbase than Macklemore Image

Drake is light skin, soft and bigger than macklemore, yet he isn't hated like that

he didn't say "is more interesting".. he said "was" Image

Eminem was one of the most respected mcees ever before he released Encore, love the way you lie, monster,...
Even black europeans were fucking with him :y:

a lot of hip hop listeners probably started hating on him because of the "poppish" singles Image

Back in 99, the same type of people were bashing on Em.

Making fun of his blonde hair, his earrings, his high pitched voice.... finding the stupidest shit to bash him on. Same shit is happening with Mack.

na

where I'm from everybody wasn't fucking with his music but he has never been disrespected as an mcee, NEVER.

it's still the same shit today, I still see the haters saying: "na, eminem is corny, that music is for cacs but theres no denying that he is technically one of the best rappers ever"

I have nothing against macklemore but I have never seen a positive comment about his rapping abilities outside of Tr Image

Tell me the hip-hop community didn't bash on Eminem....

please do....

Many hated him... and some of those older guys still do. I know plenty of people that were involved in the underground hip-hop scene during the late 90's era and are well into their late 30's that still bash on Eminem/call him garbage/or refuse to show him respect. The same guys that used to drive up to scribble jam and fly on their own income to open for bigger acts...

The hate for Eminem in 1999/2000 from the hip-hop community is well documented.... and let's not act like the only reason mainstream audiences gave him a chance was because he was signed by Dre.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are two white cats doing this shit dolo, and they are raping the game.

Can't hate bruh... if Kanye West and Drake are classified as hip-hop, then Macklemore definitely IS hip-hop.

And Lance, people didn't bash him where you are from because you're in Europe....

It's no secret that Eminem is one of the greatest MC's of our time, in fact he pretty much dominated the 2000's decade. He's respected my many people :zipped:

I remember '99 as if it was yesterday - a lot of people really, really disliked his music but Eminem the rapper has always been praised as one of the best rappers.

Do me a favor....

Create a prime Jay-Z vs. prime Eminem and see who wins.

Wayne is one of the most appreciated rappers on ktt, yet Eminem is getting more love atm :coffee:

Jay vs Em is another story, there would be nothing wrong with jay winning that shit imo.. let's not act like jay isn't one of the most important rappers of all time

Jay-Z is top 5 for me... you know that.

But Eminem in his prime is clearly a better rapper than Jay-Z in his prime.

Point is, that it should be close... even if Jay-Z wins... but we all know that on KTT, Jay will blow Em out the water.

yeah but the "better rapper" is not always the one people consider as the best hip hop artist :shifty:
impact, catalog, music, influence,.. are taken into consideration when talking about a rapper's legacy. Eminem might be the best seller but jay had a bigger impact and influenced way more artists than Em imo

I rank Em higher than Jay but I'm not mad when people say Jay > Em

Yeah. Jay Z is a hustler king, a blueprint for wealth and confidence. Em is just straight up the best rapper (in my opinion). Jay Z stands for a bit more than just music.

I don't know why this conversation is even possible, lol. Wayne made garbage.

That was all part of the joke.

Sometimes he would just flat out drop the rhyme (that would have only been 1 syllable anyway) and say "NIGGA" instead. Wayne made shit like Lollipop, and other BS tracks.

Even Macklemore's biggest hit, Thrift Shop, if you listen, is rapping about businesses tricking people into buying t-shirts for 50 dollars just because of a logo:

"50 dollars for a t-shirt? That's some ignorant bitch shit. I call that getting swindled and pimped. I call that getting tricked by a business".

Can't Hold Us was their anthem for shattering through the ceiling of the music industry AS THEY WERE DOING IT.

"Here we go back, this is the moment. Tonight is the night we'll fight till it's over. So we put our hands up like the ceiling can't hold us"

Some legendary shit making it onto the radio and people don't even see it. It's flying right over all of their heads as they all jump on the "I hate POP wagon".
