That's the problem.

He kept on saying they had only paid EUR57 million. Period. He never mentioned any fees or whatever. The devil is in the detail. By not declaring that, there is a big chance that's tax evasion. He sold the whole deal as a bargain. When Florentino stepped down from the negotiations, he put the deal at around EUR100m.
And, c'mon, don't be so naive. Paying Neymar's dad for "trying to get new talents" is an insult to fans. He gets the money even if he doesn't get any...

The reason he didn't mention these other details was because of a deal they had with Neymar's dad... you know, confidentiality. They weren't allowed. But since these things got out of proportion, Neymar's dad cancelled the "deal" and told them they are allowed to say it in public.
