Is Hip Hop Highkey Racist?

First off, Kendrick should have won both RAOTY and AOTY. Not to take anything away from Macklemore who dropped a great album. But comments like "he doesn't belong in Hip Hop" I can't make any sense of that, like why not? Is it because radio plays his stuff excessively? Because he's outselling everyone? Because to me it all just sounds like envy to me. The dude is rhyming over drums, that sounds like Hip Hop to me...

So I guess it's wrong for someone who isn't black to be on top of the game? That's how most see it, I think that's very immature. If you're the best you're the best and they should leave it at that. It's not like these outside races are disrespecting the culture and shit.

Hip Hop isn't racist. They allow good rappers of all genres. If they're good (Eminem, now Mac Miller). If they're wack as fuck, they should be called as such. The racism is other way around on this case, giving awards to a white rapper that made a wack album against a black rapper who made a classic.

I don't get how Macklemore is a joke though, he said before hand that Kendrick should win because he is the one deserving of the award. I don't see how it's his fault. He makes good music.

I feel a lot of the talk is mainly because Mack is seems to be the type if artist that doesn't fit into the normal hip hop classification. He is hip hop but not what one would normally think of. Also I think it's easy for people to make the white vs black argument because of that and his general popularity compared to that of Kendrick's. Now say that the recent MMLP2 was able to be up for the category and win over GKMC there may be some disgruntled people but I don't think the white vs black argument is made. Just my two cents.
