How much more humble does the dude need to be? :confusion:

Enough to not go lowkey dissing people he was cool with before sitting on the success GKMC had

you're definitely stupid if you think it was a diss.

I like the Heist. But if they win AOTY...that'll be the first ever white rapper to do that...and I'm almost sure Eminem could never win AOTY in this career stage and ever-after.....so....it's a stupid logic maybe, but I just don't want them to be the first to accomplish this. (I know this sounds very bitchy........but just this award NO)

I don't know....I just don't even see him having any chance....sorry, I also like Kendrick, but I thought Macklemore might really have a shot at AOTY, not only because their commercial success, but also the same-love theme...I actually thought it was possible for them to snatch that AOTY.

I'm not sure if you are trying to reference Control or his shots at Drake but come on, Kendrick doesn't need to be friendly with everyone. Control was kind of a diss but was mainly I'm better than all of you and if you think you can get my crown try to take it. Hip hop has been getting too sensitive and not as competitive as it once had been. I have no issue with Kendrick trying to stir the pot in hip hop since that's what hip hop has always been about, competition.

That's it
Not control, @Lance
But I feel you now, really
Maybe I went too hard on Kendrick cause in my mind I was pissed of at all the insane mad love he was getting lol
So I was watching everything from the back, not payint to much attention to it and instantly hating on the low to compensate. But that's a fan matter, it's like getting mad at Macklemore for him getting 3 rap grammys
Imma give him a chance in 2014 and look at him with fresh eyes then :y:

Hip-hop is great, but part of what made the hip-hop community what it was is the fact that it was the backbone of the entire culture during its come up. Now, after eminem, pac, jay z, etc bringing hip hop to the world masses, the hip-hop community is now more like a club than an actual guideline for the music. Macklemore is so huge worldwide that it doesn't matter what the rap community says about him.

The "community" is being injected with millions of new people every year whose opinions count towards the consensus of the "hip hop community" just the same as anyone elses. So, in time, the definition of hip-hop itself will change. Eventually people will just have to embrace the new niche macklemore has created and consider it a part of the genre.

Be careful what you wish for, hip hop is so big now that it has a mind of its own.

Of course I heard it!
But Grammy is not just for RAP...right?
What you think GKMC is for rap is what I think RAM is for EDM...
Album of the Year is for every music genre....and the fact that the Heist is an excellent hip-hip and pop cross-over album and has a very favoured theme( a lot of social commentary songs and that Same Love one...and HUGE commercial success)makes ME think it has a bigger chance to win AOTY than GKMC....

yep, each line he said in each song made you think "damn, that nigga gonna murder my family"
when 50 came in the game, people didn't look at him as a lyricist, he just sounded so "real", no joke, you'd think he killed a few dozens.
Although he does have some tracks with lyricism
