My text to Kendrick after the show. He deserved best rap album... I'm honored and completely blown away to win anything much less 4 Grammys. But in that category, he should have won IMO. And that's taking nothing away from The Heist. Just giving GKMC it's proper respect.. With that being said, thank you to the fans. You're the reason we were on that stage tonight. And to play Same Love on that platform was a career highlight. The greatest honor of all. That's what this is about. Progress and art. Thank you. #grammys

While I believe Kendrick still was robbed, I still like Mack and the way he has handled the Grammy situation and pretty much admitting Kendrick should have won, has gained him more respect from me for how humble he has been.

Macklemore is a hip-hop head and he's friends with Kendrick, I'm sure he genuinely feels like GKMC should've won the grammy, everyone knows GKMC is the better album.
Regardless, even if you aren't a fan of his music, you can't blame him for winning. All he did was make an album independently and it blew up in his face. He's one of the most respectful and humble artists in mainstream music today and there is no reason why anybody should be throwing so much hate his way.

Yeah, I agree with that. I respect Macklemore and didn't say anything against him. Everyone hating on him just because the award is being immature. But when you say how disappointed you are with his award, everyone thinks you just hate the guy and all his "defenders" on here go crazy. What they all should do is give GKMC a spin and ask themselves the question who made the best hip-hop album of the year. Not the best independent album or whatever, but the best hip-hop album, with the best songs on it. And they will see why people are angry.
