i wouldn't say that. i think bars-over-jokes just means there's a difference between stand up and battle rap. nothing wrong with being funny, just make sure to deliver it like a rapper, not like mitch hedberg.

Yeah, "bars over jokes" and "he can't RAP like me" are the favorite stupid expressions that emerged when guys like Kid Twist were destroying everyone.

If you want to rap hard and aggressive and focus on flow, you should focus on making music, not battling. Especially a capella battling. The irony is if they were still doing freestyle stage battles over beats, the guys who get dissed for "jokes" and "not bein able to rap like me" would destroy them even more. Guys like The Saurus and Justice just make the street rappers look like amateurs in that arena.

And how do Kid Twist and Charron not deliver their jokes like rappers?

"Bars over jokes" is as stupid a statement as "action movies over comedy movies." There are great "bar" rappers (Illmaculate) and great joke rappers. There are also shit ones for both.

erm.. why are you asking me this? what do twist and charron have to do with anything?

I agree. Not sure why you're being so aggressive.

You said Kid Twist was the "king of corn." Kid Twist is a rapper whose style mostly consists of making jokes. You say there's nothing wrong with this style, as long as they deliver their material "like a rapper." So I assumed you meant guys like Kid Twist don't deliver their material like rappers.

There's nothing corny about Kid Twist in WRC 07. He nearly single-handedly beat The Saurus/Illmaculate by himself, while PoRich was slurring and holding in his vomit with a BAC approaching 3 times the legal limit.

Real deal is dope, he's just not too consistent. And idk him verse pat just seems like a weird match.

Charron isn't corny, the way he looks maybe. But dude has dope punches and the best freestyler out. I just think more internationals battles for pat would be good, and someone pat wants to get personal with. Pat seems to do well with black dudes, he's the opposite of illmac LOL

Marv, arsonal, math, ICE, and then diz who has the URL style. Ate em all

"If you give Andy a Buzz he'll let you play with his Woody" was a good line from Real Deal against A Shaw.

Charron is not corny, and nor is Kid Twist. That's a stupid opinion.

If any of you are interested, the Guardian did a short article on Shuffle-T and Marlo. I thought it was a good read.
