The Game considering adopting orphaned Katrina child

Postby j_shady » Sep 20th, '05, 16:25

Touched by the images of hundreds of children and babies orphaned as a result of Hurricane Katrina, The Game has reportedly said he would consider adopting a child from the Gulf Coast Region.

"It's all I can think about when I wake up in the morning," Game revealed in regards to the devastation in the region.

In the meantime, Game has been doing his part to help in Katrina's aftermath. The Compton emcee recently put his 2005 Bentley up for auction with actor Morgan Freeman's organization, http://www.charityfolks.com to raise money for hurricane victims. In addition to donating part of the proceeds from his new Hurricane sneaker line, yesterday Game told 106 & Park's audience that "everything we do with the shoe line coincides with some type of relief." The rapper also said that he almost changed the line's name to commemorate the Katrina tragedy, but opted to donate part of the proceeds to the hurricane's victims instead.

If he goes through with the adoption process, Chuck Taylor sure won't have any problems showing he would be fit financially. His debut album The Documentary has sold 2,209,109 units since its release this past January according to Nielsen's Soundscan. In addition to his aforementioned sneaker line, Game also owns a record label, The Black Wall Street Records. Game also owns property in Compton.

Game already has one son, Harlem. The emcee featured his son at the end of the "Hate It Or Love It" video and also dedicated The Documentary's "Like Father Like Son" to his son.
