I do think MMLP is extremely cohesive, but i also find SSLP and TES cohesive as well. But while i agree that cohesion can make something "feel" more like one body of work, i dont understand how cohesion in the way you would describe those albums is the deciding factor if something is a classic or not. So if Kanye west album 'a' or Jay-z album 'b' all have slightly worse songs than eminem album 'a' but the latter two albums are more of what you described as "cohesive" that makes them classic but the eminem album not? I can see how it would benefit an album, that is, being cohesive in the traditional sense, but i dont see why thats the ultimate factor.

I dont really understand how you define whats a classic in that case. I dont mean to be contrary i just really dont get it.

Also that one post about how eminem makes his albums "cohesive" in that character driven sense is on point.

I agree on some of the cohesion stuff sonically. You could make the argument that Eminem's last cohesive album was Relapse

I understand your point. But i think being cohesive makes the album feel more like an album than a random choice of songs. And if you have a random choice of songs is that really an album? Or is more of a mixtape?

Like i said i understand your point, because i agree with the main concept of your post. But i would be more happy with a cohesive album (which is why i think a few songs could have been substituted with bonus tracks to make it more cohesive).

In addition, i feel like the sslp, mmlp, and tes were completely cohesive...which is why i feel they are always regarded as classics and arguably his best 3 albums even though i don't agree with the latter.

What the fuck did you just fucking say to me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it.

Em needs to make a truly cohesive album that also displays the talent and skill that he brought on MMLP 2. Then we could call that album a classic. But we don't know if Em is making another album or not or what he's up to so for now... We can say he has 3 classic albums and 1 album that is very close to being classic status but has a couple flaws (one of them being the lack of cohesion)

Talking bout relapse?
Shit, man
Classics gotta impact the game
What the fuck has Relapse done? (to the dumbfucks: this is not a discussion about how great it is)
MMLP2 needs time to be proven as one, but it's on it's way to not be considered one unless people (not stans, obviously) begin to realize how great it is

Oh, I see :y:
Not cohesive?
I don't see any problem with that except for SWIT and The Monster
