What the fuck has Relapse done? (to the dumbfucks: this is not a discussion about how great it is)
MMLP2 needs time to be proven as one, but it's on it's way to not be considered one unless people (not stans, obviously) begin to realize how great it is

No I'm referring to MMLP 2

Oh, I see :y:
Not cohesive?
I don't see any problem with that except for SWIT and The Monster

True. The Monster and Stronger Was I Than really fuck up the cohesion of the album :-k

Yeah the lack of cohesiveness is not as bad as people are making it out to be imo, but it still doesn't come close to SSLP, MMLP, and TES in that department.

^ It's not just that though.
For me it's like just when you think Em has stopped with the impressive flow switches, he starts another even more impressive one.
It's exciting af.
PS I'm listening to Roman's Revenge now, GOAT verses.

Probably that it's completely out of nowhere and Em isn't known as a double time rapper.
what about all she wrote? not to mention the fact that it's originally all he did right?

^well said brah..
I think he was just trying to show that he is all those different sounds now, and thats why a lot of the tracks sounds similar to his previous albums. Asshole is like something from MMLP1, Survival is Recovery etc, plus he brought a new Em sound with his retro Rubin beats..

I do think cohesion is important for me personally because I do prefer listening to album's as a whole, but it doesn't make or break an album for me - unless it's like...retarded. Things here and related to Eminem, as fucking usual, get blown way out of proportion.

Sometimes too much cohesion is a snoozefest.

I agree about this part. I might be the only one but I feel like this about Run the Jewels. Yeah, it's cohesive and all that, but the songs sound way too similar for me and don't have much variety

I think MMLP2s lack of that cohesion in the sense its been described here, almost makes it a more enjoyable listen. Cohesion is something i can appreciate, but theres been cases where i think it harms albums more than it helps. Of course theres always going to be cases where cohesion is done better than others. But if the individual songs are just as good if not better than something that has a more cohesive feel, but gets a lower score because of it ,just makes no sense too me.

But i think others on this forum have summed up my feelings on the subject much better than i can.

I still dont think the monster/survival belong on something called MMLP2 sonically, but i can see why theyre at the spots theyre at on the album. and i do enjoy the individual songs.

I never understand why people disregard an entire song because of one corny line, or the beat, i listen to the lyrics first. A lot of people dont have the ability to seperate between something they dont like and something that is objectively bad, so they just call it bad. I feel a lot of the hate for the monster, all stems from that beat choice.
" Life can change your directions, even when you ain't planned it
All you can do it handle it, worst thing you can do is panic
Use it to your advantage, avoid insanity manage
To conquer, every obstacle, make impossible possible
Even when winning illogical, losing is still far from optional.." -T.I.

I'm Russian like a Ukrainian, LaDainian Tomlinson
Flow vomits in your face, competitors fall at my waist
You spit a rhyme, I spit in a rhyme's face
So name the time, place to battle bitch, I'm still in that mind state
Don't make me step on you and make you wine grapes
Cry babies, maybe my way that I use words is loose
But you turds better be careful how you choose yours
Cause feelings scar, but egos bruise worse
And the truth hurts, shit no wonder you're sore losers
Now where's your poo, birds? Ooh
No more tripping in bird shit, songs of self-empowerment surging
Words of encouragement, but discouraging the rappers
The Rap Game's God, but the name's not James Todd, I'm just a wordsmith
So let these words lift, cause all I got is bars
For you dumbbells, since yours ain't working out
Each verse is more merciless than the first is, and you ain't got to wear
No shoes and shirt in this bitch to get served, bloodthirst revenge of the nerds

[Interlude]
"That you'll not escape my vengeance"

[Verse 4]
And I'm the kid with them ears like Dumbo's gone
Word to Uncle Ron, I'm turning into a non-humble Don
You blind dumb hoes, all I got is dick for you to come blow on
So start the show, but I need a drum roll 'fore I go on
Better back away from the front row, get launched, show you I'm
Bigger than Dikembe Mutumbo on the fucking Jumbotron
I'm a juggernaut, you do not wanna rumble, you Bomboclaat
I'll leave you stretched out, like a fucking yawn
So mow the fucking lawn, your asses are blades of grass
And I'm fucking up this whole landscape of rap
The GOAT just ate eight acres, an eighth of that
Was just to make a path and take it straight to your favorite rapper
Oh, look, my notebook looks smoke cooked
Like the flow stood a foot over the flame on the stove
Soot, charred debris floating like Oakwood
Was burning, return of the no good and I won't quit

Fuckin' insane! Groundhog Day :worship:
