word. "survival" does not belong, it would have been more appropriate on the bonus disc or as just a stand alone COD promo track.

@ganjakush
I think Bad Guy is a more impressive feat of creative writing than Kim or Stan, I even made a thread about it once.
MMLP2 edges it imo. For every Til I Collapse we've got Rap God, Stan is matched by Bad Guy, Criminal by So Far.
It's a bit harder to see 'cos his sense of humour is more subtle and less OTT.
@bigray
The wide range does make sense in the context of what MMLP2 is supposed to be; a revisitation not only to MMLP but to his entire discograpghy.

One thing we can all agree on is that Groundhog Day should have made the cut. Unbelievable that it didn't.

I don't think MMLP2 is as good as MMLP or TES. I think it is better than SSLP. And it's good enough where if someone tried to convince me it's his best album, I wouldn't think they're crazy. I see it as a classic, even though it's way too early.

Most of the reason I feel that way is because he managed to combine the downright insane technical rapping he displayed in Relapse and Recovery with, in my opinion, his best produced album besides the Eminem Show, and something close to the feel of his first three classics. And, most importantly, I think it lived up to his name. Shock factor defined MMLP, and who wasn't shocked when they saw a comercial with the audio of Berzerk with his voice sounding like "vintage slim" and "MMLP2" on the screen? And then the monster of a song Rap God came out, where he said the notorious Columbine line uncensored. And the album came out with the Bad Guy verse, the 99 problems line in So Much Better, Headlights, and Evil Twin. It was an album of moments and it was completely insane hearing all of them for the first time.

A lot of people liked it on the album given where it was placed. I like Survival, I actually feel like it's important to the album. After a pretty grim perspective on nearing the end of his career on Bad Guy, it was good to hear a more optimistic view on his future. Good hook and very good verses, especially the third.

Its not timeless. It doesn't cover a broad experience like the eminem show did, it doesn't shake things up like MMLP did, its not as good as SSLP, its not as well put together as relapse was. Its good, but come on man.

Relapse and well put together in the same sentence :laughing:

People wonder why some of the bonus tracks aren't on MMLP2, well in Relapse we have Must Be the Ganga and not Deja Vu :facepalm

You may want to go back and look at the tracklisting.

survival's hook is garbage, doesn't even sound like any effort was put in. Its like the most generic hook. and survival does not fit on the album better than groundhog day would of. Groundhog Day is fucking gold and whoever put on the bonus disc rather than the main disc is fucking delusional bitch ass nigga
