I know this isnt the place for this but I just gotta say, it's very obvious that Eminem being white helped him a little. The fact that he is white got him at least some extra attention which is how more people here it.

Yep, it initially got him a bit more attention - but that doesn't sustain.

Unless the shit is amazing then he would have nose-dived, quick, in fact even more-so because people have a higher-standard once forced to pay attention to someone for a novel reason ala Vanilla Ice, and then get pissed off if it's anything less than outstanding. Novelty doesn't sustain for 15 years. Not even a few years.

What happened with Em was that he had that initial attention, and people went WOW, WHAT THE FUCK, not just ''this is good'', so the whole argument of him being average if black or selling normally if black is bullshit. Because his level of sales and excitement don't sustain based on the initial novelty of him being white. They sustain due to his shit being totally unique and the music striking a chord.

Once the music becomes the focal point - skin doesn't matter. His shit has to swim or float based on concept, lyrics, ideas and musicality. I wasn't even aware or thinking about the fact he was white as a kid, I was just listening to MMLP entranced with his humour, wit and originality and catchiness of it.

Yeah, the name is pretty shit.

He will eventually just drop it to flawless, I bet. And with his skill, it will become appropriate and colloquial over time. :)

They all just sound authentic.

True... but the industry is so much more rigged and controlled than it was back in those days. Especially the hip-hop industry. Same reason Hop needed white contacts. The name flawless attracts a certain crowd that looks for perfected lyricism. That's his catch. They give it at least one listen based on the name, expecting to criticize. He pulls people in on that concept.

Geno wrote:"Flawless" is a fine name imo, but "Flawless Real Talk" is stupid, so hopefully he drops that part. Even "Dr. Real" from the song is cooler than that haha.

Dope song.

It actually used to be just Flawless a.k.a Dr. Real. He is switching it up, he moved to ATL and has this whole new method. We'll see. If he starts making money, surely his publicist will insist a name change.

Can someone try to find me a FlawlessRiDotCom download for free? (its one of Flawless's albums)

Actually thought that was really cool. Don't know if he'll be the type of guy to blow up huge or not though.

Does anyone else think he sounds like Joe Budden and Royce's 15 year old son though?

Listening to Pressure 4 at the moment ;D

I added Vantage Point to the bottom of the vid list, and a sound cloud of Counting Money (not what you think) I figured I'd update it since the acclaim was so universal.

Yup. I don't really like his old stuff though. He kinda went through a phase of bitches and hoes and swag before he realized he didn't want to sell out to that crap. He only has one album on Spotify, his newest one, and it is AMAZING.
