Relapse vs GKMC

I know it seems like I'm being a contrarion douchebag right now, but in hip hop forums you'd be surprised how many people think it's the undisputed best hip hop album of 06 without many competitors. It seems more popular with hip hop heads than with general music fans me thinks.

I'm not saying it doesn't have competitors, I think it's very close to game theory and close to other albums as well but in no universe is sihkih better than it and i've probably listened to that album more than anyone on this forum

I mean lyrically Eminem shits on Kendrick in ANY of his albums, including Relapse..But GKMC is probably a more enjoyable album for me. Can't stand the accent.

I don't mean you either but it seems like in most hip hop forums like I guess this, thecoli,SL whatever it seems to be the unanimous best album of 06. Whereas Donuts, HHNF & even GT are more popular with the "other" crowd (rym obv, but you know what I mean)

what do people think lyrical means when they say shit like "Eminem shits on kendrick lyrically in Relapse", no seriously. Do they mean they rhyme a shit ton or something... Cause Doseone in For Hero For fool is one of the most lyrical rappers out there and he barely rhymes.

Eminem can rhyme but that doesn't make him lyrical. Gkmc is lyrically better than anything eminem has released these last few years.

Eminem can rhyme but that doesn't make him lyrical. Gkmc is lyrically better than anything eminem has released these last few years.

Its really not. But then again everyones definition of "lyrical" seems to differ on this forum, making any point people have made in this discussion unclear.

and GKMC is better on most fronts than relapse, but lets not pretend like kendrick is some sort of lyrical god( and by lyrical i mean( rhyming, bar structure, syllables, ability to convey message cleverly,) hes really good do not get me wrong. But discrediting MMLP2 like that is pretty insulting to his work, im not saying the songs are better or even that that it sounds better, but lyrically MMLP2 OVERALL Id still say is better than GKMC.

MC is Kendrick Lamars debut album. It is also mainly produced by Dr.Dre. It is a new style for Kendrick and is very popular and was very successfull.

Relapse isn't even in the same league as GKMC.

Relapse is a lot of fun to rap along with and some of the flows on it are unbelievable.

That said, the obvious choice is gkmc.
