From the first verse, the first line "You used to say" I think he intended to rhyme it with "Beautiful face" from the first line of the second verse. Might be a reach but me thinks not.

Hm yeah, he starts the verses off the same way. I don't think those two are meant to rhyme together as in...a coupling pair but yeah. he also ends the first and second verse with 'edge/dead' and emphasizes them the same way.

In what other way are they meant to rhyme other than as a pair?

Anyway, this one may seem like a stretch on paper, but it sounds plausible when you hear him spit it. He says "water" like "wutter," which matches up with "touch em" phonetically:

But as soon as I go to touch em' they turn into red rum/
