Wow, I read the manifesto and that kid had some very serious mental illnesses. How can one be so evil and disturbed? He could have saw a prostitute or bought a fleshlight or something...

I think it's interesting that he chose to leave all these details behind. It makes it easy for the people who would've been psychoanalyzing him now.

It also brings up the question of why was this mentally ill man was able to commit such atrocity even with many suspicions from his parents, friends, therapists, and officers.

There will be a memorial service today, classes are canceled Tuesday, and there's even more news trucks here than any previous day.

If yall are watching you might see me drive or walk by. I won't speak to reporters unless I can find an articulate way to say "stop reporting on the suspect, and speak only of the victims and their lives. No more publicity for shooters."

It is one thing when attempting to find a suspect, it is different when we already know him and his motives. It is time to let his name go.

Monica posted this on her Facebook page.
She is very critical of the media coverage.

After you read it, I’d like to know your thoughts, whether they are good or bad.

Here’s what Monica wrote:

It is bad enough that on top of dealing with the sudden and unnecessary loss of our fellow Gauchos, the people of Isla Vista not only feel unsafe in a place we call home, but are treated as animals in a zoo by reporters and news channels.

So the amount of frustration I feel when I actually see what is being published and circulated is off the damn charts.

Why is it his picture on the cover of every article?
Why do the titles only speak of his manifesto and his video?

Though this information was helpful at first for those involved to gain a context of why someone would do such a thing, it does not change the fact that he killed 6 and injured 13 innocent people, as well as changed the lives of thousands.

I'm not even mentioning his name because he doesn't even deserve that much.

His whole point was to gain fame, because why else would someone post a video and a bulls--t manifesto. People need to STOP giving him what he wanted.

There is something seriously wrong with our media when the facts of the crimes, the impact they caused, and the strong response of the community are background details.

STOP MAKING HIM A SENSATION.

The only people that deserve recognition are Veronika Weiss, Katie Cooper, Chris Martinez, Cheng Yuan Hong, George Chen, Weihan Wang, those injured, and all of their loved ones that are trying to get through this time.

Whoever wrote this Article is an asshole.

More than a dozen reporters were camped out on Pardall Road in front of the deli -- and had been for days, their cameras and lights and gear taking up an entire lane of the street. At one point, police officers showed up to ensure that tensions did not boil over.

The students stared straight-faced at reporters. Some held signs expressing their frustration with the news media:

"OUR TRAGEDY IS NOT YOUR COMMODITY."

"Remembrance NOT ratings."

"Stop filming our tears."

"Let us heal."

"NEWS CREWS GO HOME!"

Across the street, a crowd gathered to watch. Some students sat on the curb, holding flowers to add to the large memorial in front of the deli. Others went up slowly, adding their tributes to the pile.

Behind the row of reporters, a young man in workout clothes knelt. He buried his face in his arm, his shoulders shaking as he cried.

Another man stepped forward from the crowd, knelt down and put his arm around him. A woman in the crowd went around to the other side and did the same.

There's nothing more dangerous than a mentally ill person who is good at masking their illness. :shakehead: It's crazy that he was able to literally think of everything while still behaving "normally". He was just too manipulative at that point. I hope there won't be any copycat crimes.

i honestly think its time to get rid of the guns from the streets

they never really helped anybody they just spilled blood

thats just my opinion tho a lot of rednecks and military-ass patriotic faggots would disagree

leave the senseless violence to the army
