Lighters is simply there for HTS to have a radio single; and Beautiful fits if you buy into the 'Relapse flowing in chapters' idea.

Again, like I said, I don't care as long as they sound like they were recorded for the album. Unlike Beautiful or Lighters, which sound too off, no songs on MMLP2 sound like they don't belong.

Of course, you're obviously going to counter with Survival, The Monster and Stronger Than I Was. But they all still have a sound that I would describe as "MMLP2" rather than anything else. Because Survival and The Monster do sound different than Recovery. The drums are stronger, the beats aren't overproduced or too computerized-sounding, and the writing and his voice/delivery are pure MMLP2.

I have no problems as long as I feel like he recorded the songs thinking "this song is going on my album", and not have it as an afterthought or whatever like Lighters obviously was to get Royce on the radio. But it gets irritating to see people cry about how non-cohesive an album is just because it uses different styles. I find it a lot more exciting for an album to have a lot of different styles and to show off the artistic range of the one making it.

Honestly? Probably EmBase, which sucks cuz I like the guy.

Cohesion is important but if the entire thing sounds like one song then I'd rather listen to Budden solo - which I can't.

altho i like budden i see what youre saying lol

but yeah i understand the cohesive part, but the mmlp2 does all sound like it belongs, it has that feel to me which is why is disagree on a whole of an album sounding cohesive in that sense

So after 8 month of listening , my fazit is complete.

The MMLP2 is 8/10, have some very very³ dope songs ,the only song i hate is STIW, i want to like it ,but i can't .

But its fucking big step forward from fucking recovery .
After all it is his 4th best Album imo ,after his 3 classics

Next Album will be a classic i can feel it .

:y: This is the thing about Recovery for me: a lot of the songs on it by themselves I do wholeheartedly enjoy but listening to the whole album in one sitting is boring for me. I can't seem to get into Recovery as a whole but many of the individual songs I do really like.

Listening now... I am a bit drunk (undoubetbly influencing my opinion) but this shit does have an overriding sound.

There is obviously a lot of flaws both musically and lyrically, but there is a consistency in the vibe.

I think I'd probably throw this shit a 7 out 10.

There is a lot of good lyricism too though, even with 'talkin 2 myself' which is kinda cheesy, but the honesty and insight is pretty coo to be honest, and kinda sharp. I dig it.

MMLP2 is definitely more fun doe. I'm finna slam that shit on after this.

Yeah I actually enjoy the introspection on Talkin 2 Myself even though at times it's a bit much like the lines about dissing Wayne and Kanye
