Shit n1kka. Harsh.
On da real doe, I don't want old Em at all. MMLP2 is bursting with so much fucking dopeness but I just wish it was controlled or like... there's about 5 different album directions in one album. It worked on the first listen but as time goes on it just feels like a bunch of really strong individual tracks opposing each other in every direction.
I think them shitz should go together lyk lego yo.
But I ain't one of the ones who is on some ''WE WANT OLD EM'' shit, I don't at all. ''Rhyme or Reason'' and ''Rap God'' are two of my favourite Em tracks EVER. Like, ever Ever. Forever ever? True dat. And I think his rapping on both of them and on a lot of MMLP2 is some of his best ever hands down. Another level.
I just wish the other tracks kinda felt more like a family to them two I mentioned, because on some serious shit that album would be an all-time nuclear fucking bomb of a classic, he hit upon a new style in RoR which was new and fresh yet felt reminiscent of MMLP attitude and sound in some way. I mean, he actually achieved the impossible, which is why it feels a bit heartbreaking that he dun just ran with 100 other styles across the rest of the CD.
''So Far'' even feels part of the right family tbh. And that's drastically musically different... dam, I think maybe for me, if he had like, did that with almost ay track, some kind of old ass homage or sample to imply nostalgia and then a similarISH style to those 3 tracks... coulda been mind blowing.
But, don't get me wrong, MMLP2 is fun as fuck. Just too eclectic for me. Eclectic albums be hard to pull off like an impotent old faggot, feel me? Really difficult shit.
