I've said it before, but Em is all about the element of surprise.

Then only ONE year later, he releases Recovery, which was like a complete 180 from Relapse: He used his normal voice, collaborated with famous pop stars, forayed into the popular world of punchline rap. Who while listening to Relapse would have ever thought a year or so from then they'd be hearing the Recovery kind of Em?

Speaking of "who would have thought," who the fuck would have ever thought (aside from Hopsinshadie da gawd) that Em would release a sequel to MMLP?

Next album's going to be a totally new entity.

All of the above is true but I wasn't really referring to all of the content in the albums but more of the albums themselves. It made sense that he would call his first album "Relapse" after actually Relapsing multiple times (although I think we thought it'd be a serious album) and the following it up with "Recovery" because he was getting back on the straight and narrow and finding his feet in the game again. MMLP2 did take just about everyone off guard though. I don't think he'll be so obvious as to straight up call the album SSLP but I think it will be some sort of re-visitation to that era again in title and content. imo imo etc.

He said in an interview circa-2002 (won't look for it) that the reason he didn't name TES "The Eminem LP" was because that everyone already expected him to name it that. He said that the element of surprise came into play because he didn't like to do what people already expected him to.

I just wanna hear Eminem rapping about how much he hates things, instead of saying everything is dope. He had opinions when he was younger, and he showed us said opinions in the form of Slim Shady.

I hope he keeps rapping like he has been lately, because it feels like he's slowly going back to normal.
