"Parking Lot" as opening skit?

Postby sbolli1 » Jul 6th, '14, 22:07

Was just thinking about this. The placement of "Parking Lot" seems strange to me, especially considering it's the only skit on the entire album.

I think it would have made for a really cool transition for the albums if the album opened with the skit instead, which is clearly not uncommon for a rap album, let alone an Em album. With the way Criminal closed the original MMLP, I just think it would have been really cool to literally start the sequel right where the first one left off.

I guess he just really wanted Bad Guy to kind of stand out and make that first impression. In that respect it's kind of like a prelude of sorts for the rest of the album.

I'm high as balls, but THOUGHTS??

Do you know that Parking Lot does fits beautifully in the sequence to Rhyme or Reason, right?

That transition totally works.

At the end of Badguy, Em says "pick up where the MMLP left off". He changed the course of history by getting shot in the parking Lot skit, then in Rhyme or Reason =, you hear a radio referencing the parking lot. so in conclusion Em's dead throughout the the album. Mind Blown..

It is pretty odd to have a skit as the 2nd track on the album but I think it's really cool how he says "pick up where MMLP left off" and then he actually does... wouldn't make any sense to have it before Bad Guy + it merges into Rhyme or Reason seamlessly

It would be cool if he actually did try to make the album like that, and in the process, basically create a second career. Almost like SSLP was the beginning, then MMLP, with the alternate ending of MMLP2, which would mean that his career could diverge to either the Eminem Show or the next album that he's putting out, and the rest of his career could basically be the alternate timeline or something to the original career which could have ended at Hell: The Sequel. I'm hoping that what I'm saying makes sense.

Obviously there's no reason to believe that he's doing that unless he tells us he is for his next album, which has basically 0% chance of happening. But it would be cool, to me at least, to see some rapper pull something like that off.

Probably reading into it too much but I like that tbh, It's a cool idea :y: .

I'm not reading into it at all because I don't believe any of that is true in the slightest. I'm just saying it would be cool if Em had decided with doing something like that as the MMLP2's concept/purpose, instead of him doing it as a re-visitation of his old music.

Yeah, I get what you mean

That makes perfect sense breh, and it would be a pretty fucking amazing concept if he did. It would also give him something to write about now that he's done with talking about his actual life. You never fucking know man.
