Eminem experimenting with different producers is kind of like Roger Federer switching to a bigger racket. Seems like he panicked after he heard what internet dipshits were saying about Relapse.
Canning: What will it say on your tombstone?
Charlie Sheen: Something dot com.

When are people gonna realize that Interscope didn't have a say when it comes to his albums since 2004. FFS, the dude put out fucking Relapse which might be the most non-commercial album of his career.

Em made Recovery because he didn't wanna be just another rapper in the top league. He wanted to be THE rapper, the rapper that the media considers at the top. He did that and dropped MMLP2 then. Now, I do think some of the songs on there are only there because he wanted to play it safe, doesn't change the fact that he decides everything on his own.

Besides, Interscope knows that Em is selling no matter what, there is no need to push him into something when it's always working.

"if you think this is part two to recovery"

Em basically calling out everybody that called him a sellout after Recovery, he's not dissing the album itself

"I almost wish I woulda never made recovery"

If you are going to quote a lyric/line why don't you just quote the whole line

"Shit I almost wish that I would have never made Recovery, kid
Cause I'm running in circles with"

this is the whole line and it changes the perspective of it .. now it's quite obvious that he was talking about how he's being back all over the media, even though he always hated it, how he is under pressure again etc.

"after recovery was so highly coveted
what good is a fucking recovery if I fumble it"

again, quote all of it because it makes much more sense when you have all them bars there .. not to mention that it's a football metaphor that probably slipped your mind too.

Ya'll are always reaching for things that compliment your opinion, not only talking about you but in general. A lot of posters do that tbh

Em is definitely not dissing Recovery.

Noddy, as far as that line:

"Shit I almost wish that I would have never made Recovery, kid
Cause I'm running in circles with"

I think he's not just talking about the media being on him but more about how he caught himself in a rut with Recovery. Think about it. Everything before Recovery, Em just said whatever the fuck he wanted for the most part and didn't care that much about being a hit commercially. Look at Relapse. Like you said Noddy, Relapse is quite possibly Em's least commercial album ever. Then the next year Em follows it up with his most commercial album filled with content about recovering physically from the drugs and spiritually as well. It was all about him progressing as a person and being a responsible father now. That is such a huge change from how he was rapping a year before.

By making Recovery and how it is, it kinda trapped him so that he couldn't make another song or verse that was so offensive or hurtful anymore because of all the things he stated on Recovery. I think he matured too quickly as a person from Relapse to Recovery and it hurt his music for some time imo. So then from Recovery to MMLP 2, people were wondering what Em's next album after Recovery would look like and many assumed a Recovery 2 (especially because it seemed like Em had stuck himself in a rut with all the maturity and growth he seemed to talk about and express on Recovery).

Luckily, Em found a balance with MMLP 2 and was able to combine his newfound maturity and spiritual growth as a sober, responsible father with his crazy Slim Shady side that liked offending people and wasn't afraid to speak his mind. Em was able to adapt to today's rap environment and be able to create an album (MMLP 2) that was mature but still contained the zaniness and "immaturity" of Em's older albums. Em achieved a great feat by pulling off an album like MMLP 2 at this point in his career. He finally found a balance among all the seriousness and maturity.

I believe it was Eminem's own decision and Jimmy didn't influence that decision at all. Eminem is trying to escape from Illuminati.
