naah bruf, probably one of them in top 10 but in top 5 and both? i don't think so, to me eminem is the greatest hip-hop artist of all time and one of the greatest artist in general but i still think there is much more albums that have had good songs as a whole without 1 song being out of place, although em does have one of the best catalogues tbh, but as a single album i wouldn't put them but it's ur opinion anyways :y:

and i'd say idk lol, both really good albums to me, 10(or 9)/10

Well, going back to my first listen of the 2 albums, SSLP impressed me much more. The flow was unlike anything I had heard at the time, and not that it wasn't (as) good on MMLP, but it was just a continuation i.e. he came up with that style on SSLP. I also loved the clever humor of SSLP, which you forget how hard hitting it is at first when you've heard the songs hundreds of times. Compare it with jokes, even the best joke becomes unfunny if you know it. So you have to take in consideration the initial impression, which is where a lot of SSLP's strength lies. Same goes for the type of songs/concepts that he used, it was all really fresh, the whole style of it, and again, you tend to forget how fresh something was after hearing it so much. SSLP offered a lot of new things, while MMLP didn't really. Though to be fair, it's kind of a tough position since you can't reinvent the wheel, and with Em, the wheel was SSLP.

I STRONGLY disagree.

MMLP was a much more serious, aggressive, and darker side of Eminem. Sure, some of the SSLP humor is still on the album, but you don't get songs like Stan or The Way I Am on SSLP.

I feel they are both his best, but MMLP is on a whole other level when it comes to song writing.

SSLP definitely offered a lot of new things, but to say MMLP didn't is a joke.

That's a good argument actually. I think I meant more in comparison to other albums/rappers, and not necessarily Em's own/himself. Like, 2Pac had a lot of that raw emotion, while I find the style of SSLP more unique. But still, you're right, I shouldn't have forgot/dismiss that aspect of MMLP. PLus, when I now think from the perspective of best HIp-Hop album in general, I always name MMLP and Illmatic, and I can't really put SSLP in that conversation, so yeah. But that's with impact/importance included too.

'Til I collapse I'm spilling these raps long as you feel 'em
'til the day that I drop you'll never say that I'm not killing 'em
Cause when I am not, then I'mma stop penning 'em
And I am not hip hop and I'm just not Eminem
Subliminal thoughts, when I'mma stop sending 'em?
Women are caught in webs, spin 'em and hock venom
Adrenalin shots, the penicillin could not get the illing to stop
Amoxicillin's just not real enough
The criminal cop-killing hip hop villain
A minimal swap to cop millions of Pac listeners
You're coming with me, feel it or not you're gonna fear it
Like I showed you the spirit of God lives in us
You hear it a lot, lyrics to shock
Is it a miracle or am I just product of pop fizzing up
For shizzle my wizzle, this is the plot, listen up
You bizzles forgot, Slizzle does not give a fuck
Music is like magic, there's a certain feeling you get
When you real and you spit and people are feeling your shit
This is your moment, and every single minute you spend
Tryna hold on to it because you may never get it again
So while you're in it, try to get as much shit as you can
And when your run is over just admit when it's at its end
Because I'm at the end of my wits with half the shit that gets in
I got a list, here's the order of my list that it's in
It goes Reggie, Jay-Z, 2Pac and Biggie
Andre from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me
But in this industry I'm the cause of a lot of envy
So when I'm not put on this list, the shit does not offend me
That's why you see me walking 'round like nothing's bothering me
Even though half you people got a fuckin' problem with me
You hate it but you know respect you got to give me
The press's wet dream like Bobby and Whitney, Nate, hit me
Soon as a verse starts, I eat at an MC's heart
What is he thinking, how not to go against me, smart
And it's absurd, how people hang on every word
I'll probably never get the props I feel I ever deserve
But I'll never be served, my spot is forever reserved
If I ever leave Earth, that would be the death of me first
Cause in my heart of hearts I know nothing could ever be worse
That's why I'm clever when I put together every verse
My thoughts are sporadic, I act like I'm an addict
I rap like I'm addicted to smack like I'm Kim Mathers
But I don't want to go forth and back in constant battles
The fact is I would rather sit back and bomb some rappers
So this is like a full blown attack I'm launching at 'em
The track is on some battling raps, who want some static?
Cause I don't really think that the fact that I'm Slim matters
A plaque and platinum status is whack if I'm not the baddest, so

Singin' "Bagpipes from Baghdad" again
In my dad's drag draggin' a faggot in a Glad bag
Won't be the last time I make a dramatic entrance like that again
You thought I was lyin' when I said I think that I'm crossin' the line again
I've lost my mind, caution oh God I think I've just thought of another fucking line
Forgive me father, for I have sinned
But hip hop has left me brainwashed with a violent streak

I really can't choose between MMLP and TES at times. They both have 2 tracks which I never really listen to and the rest are fantastic
