It doesn't capture anything that the original does. The original has the murderous darkness (Kim's body in the trunk), with the added cartoony attitude about everything (the "Slim Shady" scrawled in crayon). The special edition cover is just a picture of him holding his head with a blue filter.

The special edition of the MMLP1, however...that's probably my favorite. If I didn't have a mental disorder I'd probably keep that as what's on my iTunes, but since it wouldn't match with the second's album cover I can't do it.

It DOES capture something, the special edition cover is more or less in ligh blue (representing Marshall) and dark blue (representing the dark thoughts of Slim Shady)
I also prefer the blue to the purple of the original, just my preference.

I always think of Purple when I think of SSLP though lol
I also prefer the Amsterdam MMLP cover (not by much though) but the Revovery one you put up, Outlaw, is miles better then the one of him walking.

I've used the Amsterdam MMLP cover for a long time but ultimately I prefer the Detroit cover.
I just think it looks cooler and fits the style of the album more because him sitting on the stairs of his old house is a lot more personal than him sitting in front of some random house in Amsterdam haha
and yeah, the original Recovery cover with him just walking on a street is his most boring album cover imo
