Just a question as I know nothing about guns, is it that easy for the trigger to pull when you're barely pressing on it? Or must he have been actually applying a reasonable amount of force while taking this picture?

It's easy, triggers are sensitive.

That's why they also teach you to keep the finger off the trigger unless you're ready to shoot.
