It's pretty stale but sets the tone for the rest of the album perfectly.

You know, that's actually exactly it in my opinion. The subject matter is just a rehash of everything Em had ever talked about to that point in his career, but the sound was excellent and fitting.

Yeah, it sounds like he had nothing more to speak about and just wasn't happy with his life at that point in time.
