Even though my post was a joke, it has some relevance being that the term is a meaningless term to denote a genre. Especially when you got shit like "indie pop" or "noise pop" running around. Though I'm from the school of thought that just about any genre you're comfortable with no matter how obtuse is basically your version of pop music.
