Mental and physical development differs from person to person and I think it's more important to consider the personality and maturity and emotional development than an arbitrary age. In this country it is legal for a 45 year old to fuck a 16 year old, but illegal for a 17 year old to fuck a 15 year old.

Do you think the 45 year old genuinely loves and cares for that 16 year old?
Do you think the 17 year old genuinely loves and cares for that 15 year old?

There is a difference between discussing the morality of an issue and the legality of an issue. As I highlighted, there are moral grey areas, as with most/all laws.

Your personal feelings shouldn't come into the equation whatsoever. People don't like the idea of interracial couples or same sex couples or incestuous couples either, it repulses them, but it doesn't make them morally wrong. I didn't say it's morally ok for all 17 year olds to sleep with all 15 year olds. I said individuals differ. There are low functioning 18 year olds less able to handle a sexual relationship than the average 15 year old these days.

In western culture, women are taught that to be worth someone's love they must first be worth someone's sexual desire. As such, we have differing ages of consent but they all range from 16-18. Laws which reflect our cultural values.

However there are African nations where it is completely culturally acceptable to marry and start baring children as young as 14. The laws in those countries reflect those cultural values.

The same way some Islamic nations teach women to completely cover up, and it is illegal for those women to have sex outside of wedlock.

Do you see how your feelings on a certain type of people (young people) having sex really has no bearing on anything? Would you care what an Islamic fundamentalist from Pakistan thought of your sexual relations? Personal feelings are just that - personal. We don't make laws based on Aone10's personal feelings.

I do think there should be an age of consent for legal reasons. I understand it and it makes logical sense. I also happen to think there are circumstances where people under the age of consent are perfectly capable of making that decision for themselves. And that just about sums it up for you.

So, morally, I don't have an issue with someone sleeping with a 14 or 15 year old, depending on the maturity level of the people involved. I would take more issue with a man sleeping with a 17 year old over grown child who is still a virgin, than a 15 year old with lots of world experience and many previous sexual partners. If she's old enough to sexualise herself then she's old enough to be sexualised.
