Still early. A 2nd single now would lose its momentum, especially since it most likely won't have a lot of "Em".

Cruel Summer had five songs released prior to the album dropping and was a pretty solid commercial and critical success. I don't understand what Shady Records is doing. They started the correct route with an Eminem solo song (much like Cold on Cruel Summer), but we have heard no posse cuts. A song like New God Flow with Eminem, Royce, someone like Dre, Jay-Z, Nas would be a perfect single leading up to it.

Since when is Eminem anything like Kanye?

I was simply comparing the promotion of the albums because they are both modern compilation albums. What is the big fucking deal? Out of EVERYTHING I just posted, you come up with the most basic, meaningless question possible. Sure, they aren't alike. But there are factors that play into building hype for an album and promoting your artists on a label. If ANYONE can honestly say that they have done a good job with this album and that it's too early for a second song to be released, they're absolutely fooling themselves.

Settle down. You obviously care about this album or you wouldn't be so worked up about how they're handling the promotion. It isn't a meaningless question. Eminem has always had his own form of promotion, usually revolving around the element of surprise. So it isn't all that weird that we don't know what's coming.

I care enough that I'll be illegally downloading and likely putting it into my recycle bin with MMLP2 and Recovery. I'm so salty.

I also think they just don't care to overly promote this, I feel like Shady Records is slowly just becoming a label that wants to put out music just to put out music. By that I mean without the over advertising and commercialization (which sounds laughable considering Yela's and SH's debut attempts).

There's a TINY bit of hope that the album cover is indicative to the overall vibe of this record.

I've gotten that feeling too, but Yelawolf obviously wants a bigger career and won't be going places with the label having that sort of attitude.

And with some of things Eminem has said about passing the torch to Slaughterhouse, I just find it hard to believe that they don't want something more out of these artists. I almost think they want these artists to be something they're not.

I honestly don't care about promotion or anything. The lack of information is making the wait easier (I don't care about the album at the moment lol).

I just want Shady Records to become a label to put the music out and leave it at that. I'm hoping that's what it becomes, because that keeps it as pure as possible.

And if artists don't come there expecting to become popular then we won't get forced music like WTOH and Radioactive. 50 Cent was always going to be huge, Eminem was going to be huge, they just helped get them there. You can give them a push, but bad things happen when you try to force someone to be popular.

I agree. I gotta say, Radioactive is a pretty good compromise between "forced music" and "good music". In this particular case, I don't mind at all. Some tracks were forgettable though and it's probably the cause of the "bad things" (obviously the album didn't reach the expected sells), but Yela was still Yela on this record. In comparison, Slaughterhouse on WTOH basically didn't have any personnality because of how forced it was, and at the end of the day the whole record is forgettable

I actually like Radioactive tbh. More than the average person on here. But it's undeniable that he put some songs on there in hopes of gaining popularity. I can't blame him for it, but it is what it is.

Me too man, me too. My point is, even these songs ain't bad. They're not even the "worst" songs of the album imo.

Plus that's actually funny how Yela didn't even try to hide his intentions with the title of the album Always amused me.
