It's an oldschool west coast song with an updated song

Let me paint the picture... I walked into the studio to P and found myself in a room with 12 people listening to P x KDot sketching an idea for a song. When they were done. K broke out his lap top and played a song that fucked me up for real. I’m sitting here trying to think of ways to explain it with words. It just made me feel so much. It took me back to a place that i loved so much about hip hop. Literally was watching Kendrick perform his song in front of us and as my girlfriend said. It gave her chills. This dude is on some other shit. This song took me all the way back to 90s hip hop and back and gave me a tour of the cultural fabric of LA like never before. During the song, Pharrells engineer whispered to me “Dre had to produce this. This has to be Dre.” It had these dusty drums with an updated sound, hard hitting bass lines. It felt like the song took a different turn every 4 bars. Once that happen u didn’t know what to expect. This dude doesn’t want a Grammy he’s making movies. This shit should get an academy award ha. This dude @SounwaveTDE has laced you guys with something so special. I am DYING for everyone to hear it. He had a similar flow to James Brown in “Payback” talking like a conversation and rapping hard as hell. The way they made this song it like the way bands would get together and jam back in the day. There is no way that @kendricklamar and @SounwaveTDE weren’t together every step of the way this song was made. The track and the vocals were having a conversation like Jazz musicians would improvise. This is gonna FUCK U ALL UP hahahahah. West Coast music is back.

see i hear this shit all the time when people talk about kendrick, and it gets me excited too. but then i'm always inevitably let down because shit like this sets my hopes/expectations extremely high. "can't-even-think-of-a-way-to-explain-it-with-words" high.

so, as usual, i'm over here preparing myself for some legendary genre-changing shit that's gonna knock the fucking planet off-axis. maybe this time it'll actually be that good.

thats because YOU don't like kendrick. I have already read you talking about some of ur fav kdot songs and you like what the kendrick fans don't like and praise what is considered to be his worst work.

kdot just ain't for you, get over it

there's songs of kendrick's that i like, they're far between but i like them enough to keep up with his stuff in hopes of finding more. and as with with nearly any artist even if they're not for me i'm able to understand why they appeal to others, and i understand kendrick's appeal. what i don't understand however is how i've never in my life seen another rapper receive more praise. not even Em in his MMLP/TES era was receiving this level of praise from the hiphop community. And don't get me wrong, i support kendrick and i think he's very talented, but i certainly don't think he's Academy Award good. Let alone good enough to leave me speechless. And I try really hard man, I really do. I really try to listen and hear what it is you're hearing but I'd love to join you guys in being psyched like this. But it's just not that fucking prolific. I remember my first time hearing him back in 2010 on I Love Music, and I remember he wasn't very notable at all. He's improved since but not to the level you guys are putting him at, this is ridiculous it's like he can do no wrong.

Don't think I hate you or whatever but you don't need to try... its ok if u say its sucks or that you don't like it, but stop with your "I'm trying hard to like it" bullshit in every Tupac/Jay-Z/Kendrick/[the list goes on]... thread.

I think I have only heard 1 good song by tech n9ne, or 1 song that I thought was good. Do you see me trying "hard" to like his music? nah, I don't even enter his threads anymore.

Tbh Elision should just stick to the artists that he likes. shit is sad posting the same thing over and over again. It's even more sad to see him trying to fit in

This... trying to discover new artists is always a good thing but the man is just trying to FORCE himself to enjoy something he doesn't like. hes doing the same shit with Kanye, Pac, Jay-Z Image

You need to check that jay-z thread he made a few weeks ago... classic thread Image

I'm trying SO HARD to see why people say the sky is blue but I just don't get it. Every day I hear people talk about this beautiful shade of blue and every day I look down at the ground and the dirt is brown. I just want to experience this blue that everyone else is seeing in the sky but when I look at the dirt I just see brown. I don't get it.

... do you think I'm lying to you? dude it sucks being the only strange fan on the forum and there not being a strange forum. so i genuinely try to like what everyone here likes so that i can join in on the fun. there's no bullshit involved dude i'm really giving these artists every opportunity to gain me as a fan. however in this case it seems like you could take any solid verse from any run-of-the-mill backpacker and so long as kendrick's the one spitting it it's an instant classic on trshady.

given that tech's discography is closing in on 2000 songs by now it's safe to assume there's others like the one you like. you just don't care enough to look. and that's fine but don't shit on me for giving artists a chance whenever they put something new out as opposed to banishing them from my catalogue because i didn't like their previous work. especially if i've enjoyed some of that previous work.

No, the only one I like is "Low"... thats it, and I heard all his albums except Strangeulation (2014)
Special Effects (2015)

and I'll probably not listen to them because I don't want to force myself to enjoy something.

I saw you shitting on yelawolf a few days ago and I was like "damn, I don't like yela that much either, but why is he shitting on yela on a weekly basis?"
I don't see any problem saying that once or twice, but hating on him all the time? are you paid to post about the artists you don't like more than the artists you stan?"
