Sometimes he gets it right sometimes he doesn't. Signing Yelawolf was a really interesting move and I'm still glad he did it despite how much people hate Shady Records. He could have gotten his moment with Pop The Trunk and then faded away like a lot of underground rappers, but he got just enough exposure to solidify a loyal fanbase. Signing him probably seemed like a gamble though considering the type of artist he is.

tbh, im not too happy yelas on shady. yelas good and all, but yelas like 2.0's obie trice. hes pretty good, but will never be popular, and yela will never be as popular as obie even. if em wanted 2.0 to suceed he would have signed some guys with mainstream potential. like slaughterhouse (they got potential), then all the members of SH individually, then maybe someone like jon connor, and then idk :P

Shady Records is kinda struggling because it's trapped under Interscope's umbrella tbh. I think there will always be pressure from Interscope to sell huge numbers. Then the artists Shady wants to sign just aren't capable of that sort of mass appeal.

I don't want to be that guy, but they would make a lot more sense independent like Strange tbh.
