It's because when we say we're stans, it's not like we're comparing us to Stan, it's more of a nickname for who is an Eminem fan (i know it's a poverty explanation).

Same, I feel like "Stans" are basically fan girls of Eminem and basically want to shout it out loud as loud as they can whenever they are out in the world. Being a "Stan" of anyone really should be an insult.
