Lil Wayne pre 2010, was one of my favourite rappers.

I'm with you on that. I still keep hoping every project he puts out will be "back to how he used to sound".

Anyways...I really dig this project. To me, the Eminem verses on here are...crazy and all over the place. And I like that. Eminem really doesn't have much to talk about anymore and if you're all about content, I can understand why this stuff would put you off. The thing I always liked about classic Em (up to TES) was the completely impossible shit he would talk about doing mixed in with his own real life. Eminem boasted in a way no other rapper did. He was "quick enough to snatch a motherfucker out of his Eddie Bauer while he's driving 90 miles an hour". Who the fuck else said that?

Even as nuts and as fun as Relapse was, it was a completely different style. And I liked Recovery and MMLP2 even if they were more serious projects.(minus Brainless...that was a real sequel to Brain Damage). But this.... Fuck. Right for Me is basically an extended metaphor over three long verses. That's hard to do, and it sounded so effortless. Shady XV and Vegas had that too....just this absurd swagger. It's a unique album, none of his music on here sounds like anything else being released. That's why it puts some people off, but I love it.

And Em's not even my favorite rapper, I hate that stupid "You like anything he puts out" shit. Hardcore fans are more likely to like a larger percentage of an artist's catalog than a casual fan will. Like how I love "I Am...." but a casual Nas fan might dismiss it as 'meh'.

I think that in some songs, he was still tryna fit way too many words into one bar, but it's nowhere near as bad as the past few years, or Calm Down. And sometimes it's actually done well, like in Right For Me.
