50 never made Hip Hop what it is today, regardless of all the hate he makes and sells entertaining music. We as a people aren't blind and if the majority really felt like things were going in the wrong direction, we'd see the industry change.

Put it this way, rappers likes Talib Kweli have never had major sales success, if people truly felt like the pure hip hop focused on lyricism was the way it should be, it'd be selling more then the bubblegum rap currently does. Rappers for most part make music the people want to hear and buy, so that makes music buyers the deciders in what music is made.

Not that I agree with rap being shit recently, you just gotta search
out the diamonds in the dust, there's plenty of 'em.

i dont think 50 killed it. it was D4L and Dem Franchize Boyz. they started this "Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It" type of garbage.

the south,,,,,,not all in general but the people who are successful comeing from therre are fuckin up rap....ludachris and TI are great and i have alot of respect for them but other then that most of the other people coming suck, and since there shits popular the legends try to bite that style to stay hot.........i made a thread about this and pointed out many things that make me believe this as well
