11/26/06 - Cashis & Rikannati Major Label Debut

Postby 848lu » Nov 26th, '06, 20:12

Going from dropping local mixtapes to signing to Shady Records, Orange County natives Cashis and Rikanatti are on the way to get their big break in the rap game. You don't have to be an industry insider to be able to tell that Cashis is one of the next MC's that is one step away from blowing up. The West Coast rapper took his chance and it's not too far away from being showcased to the public.

In the summer of 2005, Dubcnn put the spotlight on Cashis and his producer Rikanatti, known under the collective The Renegadez. Cashis wasn't lying when he told us in our exclusive interview that "Two of the biggest labels out are scouting us pretty hard right now. So hopefully we can land a major deal and release a couple more mixtapes and release a full length album."

What happened next was the major deal with Shady Records, which resulted in the duo being placed on the upcoming Shady Records compilation "The Re-Up" presented by Eminem. Even Slim Shady recognized his talent, as he gave Cash a spot on the album. We're not talking a single spot, but 6 tracks including 2 solo songs by Cashis (both produced by Rikanatti) as well as the lead single "You Don't Know" featuring Eminem, 50 Cent, and Lloyd Banks.
