Its "Jay Rue" not Ja Rule, even though they sound pretty much the same.

In the freestyle "Big Lincoln", eminem does an off the dome part at ther end and says "Damager like Jay Rule", I always presumed he was pronouncing Ja Rule differently. Was before any beef between them.

From Wikipedia:

Atkins first appeared in 1995, "Time To Build" with fellow rappers Jay Z and DMX on Mic Geronimo's debut album, "The Natural." Rule later appeared with 0-1 and Chris Black as part of Cash Money Click (not to be confused with Cash Money Records). In 1998, he was signed to Def Jam Recordings, with his first major appearance alongside Jay-Z on the song "Can I Get A...". In 1999, he released his solo debut, Venni Vetti Vecci, and had a hit single "Holla Holla". The album went on to be a platinum hit and achieved multi-platinum success worldwide.

He was around at the time of both tracks, so It is Ja Rule. There is no Jay Rue, that`s someone not writing correct lyrics for the song. It`s definitely Ja Rule, just said differently.

Well, I hadn`t heard of this rapper, so ya have to try and make sense of the lyrics somehow, always presumed Ja Rule had a track called The Damager or somethin, lmao.

Since "Yo Mtv Raps" ended years ago, I don`t see a lot of rap music on t.v. Only The commercial shit that saturates the market these days. :(

He can definitely rap. He only came out as an underground artist in '94, Yo Mtv Raps ended in '95. That`s why I've never heard of him. Gonna search for an album of his, you ever bothered to listen to any?

i wouldnt call him underground, he has a lot of videos, it was just that in 94-96
competition was on all time high, some of the rappers that could claim the crown in this era got put away on the further scene in the previous era.

I personally didnt hear of him till 2002, but when i did i pretty much like his shit. I still have the "playing yaself" vynil single.

No, i didn`t mean he came out as an underground artist and stayed that way. I meant he made it big after the only rap show I could watch had ended. Props for having that single, might be worth something in 30 years. :D
