* In order to qualify for the competition, producers must include their Full name, Production Alias and confirmation code for proof of registration. Once qualified and if selected, producers will receive an email notifying submission acceptance and all specific guidelines in regards to the actual beat battle.(Please note upon submission, Money Management Group, G-unit Records,and iStandard Producers are not liable for the music sent via email).
* From the MP3 Submissions, G Unit Records, Money Management and iStandard Producers will qualify the TOP 8 producers to the preliminary round based on basic criteria such as quality, marketability, originality, etc. All producers will be notified by Friday February 2, 2007. Those accepted to the beat battle will receive an acceptance email to participate in our beat battle, and will be briefed on the rules.
Event Details:
Preliminary Battle: Day 1 (90 Minutes) Saturday Feb 10th, 2007 at the Phoenix Hyatt Regency Hotel.
The Selected 8 Producers will present their material in front a panel of Producers, A&R's, and Industry Execs.
The 8 Selected Producers will play 5 beats from a CD, they are only allowed a maximum of ONE- MINUTE EACH for each track (Total CD no longer than 5 minutes).
The Preliminary Battle: Hosted by J Hatch and Don Di Napoli of iStandard Producers. ORDER WILL BE CHOSEN AT RANDOM.
Out of the 8 Producers, TWO will be selected to advance to the final battle, Day 2.
Final Battle: Day 2 (60 Minutes)Hosted by G-Unit Records and Money Management
Sunday Feb 11, 2007 at the Phoenix Hyatt Regency Resort.
The 2 Highest scoring Producers from the Preliminary Battle, will now compete in front of G-Unit Records.
Producers will tell the audience about their influences, equipment, artists they would like to work with, and play their hottest beats.
G-Unit Records will provide commentary for producers and select the One Stop Shop Battle winner.
Winner Walks Aways with a Contract from Money Management Group.
PRODUCERS PLEASE NOTE:
* Hooks can be on your beats, but ABSOLUTELY NO SINGING OR RAPPING ON THE VERSES.
* You will be judged on the following categories:
Originality (something new and fresh, doesn't sound like anything out there).
Marketability (can the song be on the radio or on an album? Can you hear someone spitting over it?).
Quality (sounds are crisp, separation in the mixes; low end is thumping, etc.).
Usage of Elements (any samples, live instruments, etc. are placed within the drum pattern efficiently).
Overall Potential (does this producer have what it takes to get to the next level?).
