When A Fan Takes It To Far...

Postby ,-,'-{Bar}-',-, » Mar 16th, '07, 12:17

OK This is To Debate what is taking it to far supporting a artist.

this being a eminem forum we see it alot, with people we brand "groupies" but to you when does a fan step over the line and become obsessed ?

or are they really just good fans, but we look at them the wrong way ?

so, debate

I don't like idolizing in hip hop simply because hip hop always was "different" its the music of the people. It doesnt have a #1 or an Aristocracy of a group of rappers, because hip hop is not about the charts.

Fanatic people are the offspring of commercialism. Nothing more nothing less. I think those people ruin this music i loved since childhood so [redneck accent] I don't kindly to their kinda around here[/redneck accent]. Not like their opion matters enough to be listened to anyway.

Umm.. I guess sometimes it helps a lot when you know something about their biography.. To understand some of the songs I mean. But keeping their pics on your pc or looking for their kids' pics or being like "omg what's his pants' color!?" is sick. :sweating:

Posts like "I hate that bitch Eminem's dating now" or "he deserves someone like me" or shit like that - now that's crossing the line I think.

They're normal people after all, most of them got families and kids and I don't think I'd be pleased if someone kept on posting my kids' pics all over the Internet..

i think "Stan" is the definition of when a fan crosses the line. of course, stalking is crossing the line.

but really i dont think we all have a bit of groupiness  we are all fans of eminem obv but not gorupie

groupie = taking being a fan to the point of an obsession in a almost religious manner....also a lil freaky and defensive.

^ lol she triggered the thought in my head, coz ive seen what you said a defending fan and thought, what a gorupie, then i seen her and i was like ok there 2 levels of this :sweating:

now about defending, defeindg a artist or song isnt wrong, but people who defend stuff for no reason are gorupie to me, like eveyrone knows encore wasnt anywere near eminems best and that fack was a big pile of shit, but people defended encore syaing its amazing better than his previous albums and stuff..it isnt eveyrone know sit isnt its a fact it isnt, but coz its eminem people feel as if they cant let him fail..thats the way i see it when someone defends too much..

another thing is i seen people say "loyal to the game" was pacs best album because eminem was crazy on the production, that to me is groupie coz its a fact that nothing created since pac passed away is near his original material, and that me against the world or all eyes on me is 100 times better than loyal to the game, and to the fact that coz production is good doesnt make a album that artists best coz the artist has got to spit sick stuff for it to be his best

and i see your point about defending im not disagreeing with it, i defended buck when someone sayed rotten apple was better, but coz neither me or the other perosn are gorupie it simpley gets put as opinions, now when you try say somehting against a eminem fan defending eminem 8 times out of 10 it isnt opinion to this persons head it is FACT and they KNOW that eminem is the best greatest got biggest dick ect.. lol

alot of people try to defend eminem far too much coz they feel he cant fail i think thats groupie

people who know eminem can do wrong and follow his MUSIC arent gorupie

anyone who follows anythign other than the mans MUSIC to me is groupie or an obsessed fan..really i must say ive never tried to find or see anything form a artists that isnt about there music, even people wanting pictures of the artist are weird to me, i listened to 4 rakim albums and never knew what he looked like till Fordie posted the educate the forum about him, it confuses/baffles/annoys me that anyone would how any intrest in anything a artist does OTHER than music

oh and one last thing to note, people claim to be eminems number 1 fan alot on this forum and that they connect wiht his music like no other, aswer me this

these people say this but eminem states in all his songs that these people who follow him that obsessed, he hates, he hates all the gorupies he has...so why do REAL #1 fans not stop being like it ??

most of times when they say "you're a groupie", it means they can't picture that you can stand for an artist for years, and you have true loyalty for him because his music is a big part of your life! they are listenin' Nirvana or Green Day and after that they talkin shit about they're the biggest 2pac fans. And if you say "I'm rap" or "Shady 4 Life" you are a groupie. and of course everyone knows your life so they can judge.

that's wassup!
