ok, im gonna put an end to that rumor right now. it is still legal to own a gun. it will always always always be legal to own a gun in the US. we have something called the 2nd Amendment which gives people the right to bear arms. it will NEVER be reversed. so soreal wherever u heard that from they are wrong 110%. even if we made a law making it illegal to carry a gun, it will not take less than a day. it takes a LONG time to pass an amendment in the United States. no one will get locked up if they own a gun in the United States with legal licenses.

Bar: not everyone can get a gun. yes, u do need a license to legally own a gun. u need a HUGE background check in order to be elegable to own a gun. it then takes a longer time for u to actually get ur license. some states are different than others but that is the federal law. states can change that however. and u think that ur country is so peaceful? im sure as hell that people own guns and kill people in your country and in every country in the world. people can get guns *snaps* like that anytime, anywhere no matter how strict your gun laws are

The damn rednecks were so scared of freed (run away) slaves seeking revenge, that they needed guns, coz they were pussies.

"Omg, big scary negros on the loose... THANK GOD WE GOT OUR GUNS"

And its not about how easily u can get a gun, its about people going off on rampages *snaps*, just like that. If ur country has legal guns, then more guns are made in ur country, more guns are lost, guns get cheaper, guns become AVAILABLE, and immorally, yet socially justifiable. Theres no reason to own a gun wat so ever, and that "defense" bullshit is stupid, if a robber comes to my house and he sees me with a gun it is MUCH MORE LIKELY that someone will get shot, out of the survival instinct. not to mention that everybody being able to easily take each others life for some property laws or some cash... demoralizes people...

if ur saying that "nothing can change yada yada" then your "democracy" aint worth shit, to prevent this kind of shit that happens, many people have to become aware and share a goal to prevent people from owning guns.

And no my country is not peacefull either, and guns arent available to people like its toilet paper rolls, but our students don't go on rampages with two hand guns, people kill people with reason (well, at least theres some rational explanation to criminal behaviour). You should abstract ur view and think about how the mentality of people changes without guns.

k, i just wanted to add that, because frankly i think its kind of obvious that these rampaging american kids from suburbia that down anti-deprasants like they were m&m's , just get POWER-HAPPY... and thats not even a normal crime, its irrational, it means society is doing an awefull job and people are braindead, having loast all sense of judgement.

america is one of the eisiest places to get a gun, excluding iraq and places

you can buy them of the street cheap or tell me how 16 year olds end up with guns ?

no my country isnt peaceful but there isnt one gun shop in the whole of inverclyde, infact id be suprised if there is even 20 in the whole of scotland

stricter the laws the more dificult it becomes, when it gets dificult some people cant be bothered doin it, you can never stop it but if it changed were no one could carry a gun or have a gun in you house or anything, it would decrese a little

i dont see how people can back having the right to have guns, expecially when stuff like this happens, i remember the same thing happened in dumblain primary school years ago and after that the scottish parliment cracked down on guns even more making it more dificult to get one

^aint it scary to be walkin around knowin that the people around you are very possibly carrying a gun?

^it's certainly scary to me, i remember walking down hollywood boulevard once and you could see people carrying guns in their pockets, inside their jackets aso, it just scared the crap out of me to think that somebody might actually start using them if provoked or scared...

like michael moore said, if guns made people feel safer, the usa would be the safest place on earth; it isn't...

this is truly truly a horrendous act and my thoughts go out to everyone who lost someone there and to all the students, teachers and other staff members who were affected by it; we had a shooting at my uni years ago, and it takes a lot of times to heal the wounds

and btw i know that the americans have a constitutional right to bear arms to protect themselves, but maybe it's time to change a constitution that was written and passed hundreds of years ago in a different era since it's obvious that it's costing lives - americans also have the right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness", and it's sad to see that the right to life is violated over and over again because some people insist that they have a right to possess a deadly weapon

in 1999 people were saying that it was important to learn from columbine, now another 33 people have been added to the horribly long list of school shooting victims and regrettably they won't be the last - but of course it's much more important to defend your right to own guns than to think about what those guns do to people, right?

rip to all the victims and may everyone affected find the strength to live on in spite of their terrible loss

dam, its bad enough walking around and you can see people having knifes on them

just saying if you carry a gun with you you ultimely feel like you have control, think if you had a gun on you, you wouldnt think twice about getting into a argument or a fight coz you have a gun...

same thing happens when poeple carry knifes they aint scared of no one and do stuff they wouldnt do if they didnt have the weopon..

and the right to bear arms shit is pointless, it does no good, its like syaing here hold this gun act hard and if anyone starts shoot them, then say it was self defense..
