I don't mean all rap here either cause we all know that chamillionare and 50 Cent aren't peotic?

I think it is because it's complex lyrics with emotion..

Rap is supposed to reflect a poetic mood and ideas just like poetry. Its supposed to be artistic.

its true that poems dont have to rhyme, yes. poems can contain imagery, metaphores, similes, assonance, rhyme, etc... but song can have those very same things, it just happens that rap songs must contain strong rhyming.

^ i know how that is , i've been writing lyrics for so long that when i went to write a poem i struggled cuz i concentrated on the rhyme too much.

i started rapping via writing poetry,Like i would just write my thoughts towards something via a poem tryna reflect greats like william shakespeare. The whole basis of poetry is what rap is,so of course rap should be considered in the same art form.
