Pete Rock - "NY's Finest" - in the spring of 2007 featuring Raekwon, Masta Killa, Ghostface Killah, Cappadonna, MF Doom, D-Block, Redman, Papoose, Slum Village & Jim Jones, among others, also on Nature Sounds

Rakim - "The seventh Seal" - 2007, date is unstable, but is gonna be released in the coming months i suppose, released on an independant lable created by RA himself "Ra Records"

Wu-tang - "8 Diagrams" - You know god damn right it's gonna be dope as hell.

MF Doom - "MM... FOOD: seconds?" - 07/24/2007 reissue with an included DVD - The previous release has been out of print and hardly available, so its re-released and i believe it's prolly gonna be re-mastered a bit too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi9fI68FcJo (already dropped but still, this classic album needs some more coverage)

Nas - "The N" ... no fucking idea when, but Nas said its dropping this year since he already got itt almost done. :y:

nah'msayin' :y:

I can't wait for the WU and th Ra albums, which i hope drop this year, i fucking hate delays.

Eminems album seems like its gonna drop mid 2008 and "Detox" :| ... umm lol, i doubt itll dropped anywhere close to this year. Cant remember who is else is dropping this year, but ill add if i come across some memorable ones.

I think Comman and Kanye make a nice team actually, that "Corners" track is one of Commons dopest ever. Once Kanye doesn't rap too often it's not gonna be too bad, his voice is annoying, but some of the beats he makes are unbelievably good.

Can't wait for Rakim and Nas's Albums, they should be the best of this bunch. I know Pete Rock's, Doom's and Wu Tang's 'll probably be great too, i`m just not a big fan of those for some reason, Wu Tang I used to be, Pete Rock I haven't really fully checked out yet, and Doom's music I just find a bit boring, lyrics and flow are great, just the music is boring to me.

I'd be pretty surprised if EMinem drops in the new year, as he usually drops before Christmas. But, there's no buzz around it yet, or any promotion goin on, so I can understand why next year seems more likely. WE'll know if he's at the MTV Music Video Awards in September, he only ever shows if he's bringing something new out.

corners is a good track no doubt, because of the lyrics, i think commons old production was way better. Kanye always fucks beats up with chipmunk voices in between bars..

Pete Rock I haven't really fully checked out yet, and Doom's music I just find a bit boring, lyrics and flow are great, just the music is boring to me.

Pete rock is a producer - he raps a lil but he is amongst the GOAT producers. Him with his funky fast tempo beats and soulfull slow melodies and CL smooths perfect flow that lutterally bombards uwith words, perfect. Kings of the early 90's. They are like the Snoop dogg and Dre. Dre of the eastcoast.

Dooms music is no more boring than canibus rakim or big pun. It will take u a couple listens and maybe some time before u understand it, its just not the case. Dooms Flow is unique, so is his style, weather u like it or not a lot of true hip hop fans are waiting for this MC monster word master of the vocabulary and metaphors to drop a new album soon. Boring? gtfoh lol.. he's never dropped a simple metaphor, 99% of his lyrics have never even been pronounced by other rappers. I respect your opinion but Doom is a veteran.

50 cent is dropping in septemeber, trust me, Em is just gonna layback till 50 drops his shitty album that he has to push down people throats for 6 months so they'd buy it.

Yeah, he does sometimes overdo it with that effect, but I loved it when he did it the first few times, it brought something new to hip-hop beats. Without being some club-banging crunk shit.

Yeah? cool. Except with great lyrics right? I know man, i've been meaning for ages to check up on their shit, just haven't got round to it yet. Hit me up with some album recommendations will ya.

Dooms music is no more boring than canibus rakim or big pun.

No more boring than Rakims yes, but CAnibus and Big Pun are in a totally different category. I`m not saying their better, just different in a way that's more exciting to "me". Their flow and delivery is smashed out with ferocity, and that shit gets me pumped up. Rakim and Doom have laid back flows, which is equally awesome and I love it too, but I prefer the aggressive approach.

I never said he was boring man, I said "I" find him boring, which is a different thing. I've checked out some of his best albums, and have listened tot hem a few times, but wouldn't consider myself a fan. Although I am a fan of his lyrics and originality, there's a lot to be said for that!!

Feelings mutual, and yes he is!!

50 cent is dropping in septemeber, trust me, Em is just gonna layback till 50 drops his shitty album that he has to push down people throats for 6 months so they'd buy it.

Oh right, I didn't know 50 was putting an album out so soon. Yeah, you're right so, it'll be at least 6 to 9 months later before EM's album so. They don't like to oversaturate the market with their artists. Which is a huge fuckin shame, I'd love to be listening to 5 or 6 albums a year of 50, Cashis & co.

Mecca & the soul brother - classic. I don't know one hip hop fan that can even disagree that that album is classic. CL got flow + Lyrics and its also catchy and funky ... in the early new york style.

Well thats what MULTIPLE artists are for, it would be boring to listen to one artist forever. I listen to doom for the interesting worldplay, Ra for the laidback flow and catchy songs, Canibus is someone i don't favor yet and i dont have time to really check out... But just coz somebody doesnt rap about pulling out spinal cords from backs, and makes constant battle tracks dont mean they boring. As i said before, i donno how much you've heard of him, i dont know if u even understand his content, which when you piece together u get a bigger picture.

I never said he was boring man, I said "I" find him boring, which is a different thing. I've checked out some of his best albums, and have listened tot hem a few times, but wouldn't consider myself a fan. Although I am a fan of his lyrics and originality, there's a lot to be said for that!!

well good, boring is just a strong word though.

Cool, gonna check both of them out, haven't heard them.

Good point, and that is something I meant to say. Something I find boring today can really be perfect for listening to tomorrow when in a different mood.

I listen to doom for the interesting worldplay, Ra for the laidback flow and catchy songs,

Rah for the catchy songs? You're kidding right? I thought you said before fuck catchy hooks and songs. And to my memory Ra has only made about 5 catchy songs in his career. His effortless ease of flow, complex mataphors and lyrical flair is what he's great for, catchy is not in his satchel of talents (At least not in comparison with most artists). Doom definitely has interesting wordplay, you've shown me many awesome track lyrics from him, that side of him is really creative and interesting.

Canibus is someone i don't favor yet and i dont have time to really check out... But just coz somebody doesnt rap about pulling out spinal cords from backs, and makes constant battle tracks dont mean they boring.

Well, what you said there really showed that you haven't listened to Canibus much. I didn't mean aggressive as in "pulling out spinal cords from backs, and making constant battle tracks", I just mean in the delivery, the flow, beat and intonation of the lyrics. And Canibus raps about technology and science and makes them metaphor's for his rap skills, and he spits them in sometimes 7 or 12 minute long songs with a rapid flow. Rakim and Mf Doom always stick with the same delivery and flow, never getting passionate or excited about what they're saying. Maybe that's because they don't touch on heavy shit, just clever wordplay and rhyme wizardry. But, it's the whole sound of it, the very laid back flows, beats and delivery that make it a little boring. And hell yes that is a strong word, and I don't mean it as strong as it sounds, but I can't think of a word better to suit what i`m tryin to say. Yes I understand the lyrics man, i`m not stupid, not that you'd have to be 'cos he says some weird things, but I can understand wordplay and metaphor's. I'm just not a fan of his style of rapping, but respect his skills none the less.

heres one of my favourite songs :y:
Rah for the catchy songs? You're kidding right? I thought you said before fuck catchy hooks and songs. And to my memory Ra has only made about 5 catchy songs in his career.
My definition of "catchy" is not the same as the pop-chart definition. Catchy as in the songs that just posses my mind for a while, that i can play again and again.

His effortless ease of flow, complex mataphors and lyrical flair is what he's great for, catchy is not in his satchel of talents (At least not in comparison with most artists).

as i said i didnt mean it in the same way as u described.

Well, what you said there really showed that you haven't listened to Canibus much. I didn't mean aggressive as in "pulling out spinal cords from backs, and making constant battle tracks", I just mean in the delivery, the flow, beat and intonation of the lyrics.

His intonation is exactly what didnt appeal to me in the first place.

And Canibus raps about technology and science and makes them metaphor's for his rap skills, and he spits them in sometimes 7 or 12 minute long songs with a rapid flow.

Its not the size of the tracks that matters, its how well they are concepted and executed.

Rakim and Mf Doom always stick with the same delivery and flow, never getting passionate or excited about what they're saying.

Rakim - know the ledge, pass the hand grenade, the punisher, casualties of war... then theres relax with pep, stay a while, 18th letter, ... Ra has flipped almost all kinds of songs well, he doesnt get as low as doing self indulgent comedy tracks .. it prolly wont suit his image... other than that he did had delivered in all styles, many of those styles prolly originated whit him too lol, since he was a great influence.

Maybe that's because they don't touch on heavy shit, just clever wordplay and rhyme wizardry.

What do u mean by heavy shit? screaming every word on a record? ..

But, it's the whole sound of it, the very laid back flows, beats and delivery that make it a little boring. And hell yes that is a strong word, and I don't mean it as strong as it sounds, but I can't think of a word better to suit what i`m tryin to say.

As far as doom goes, he uses beats that suit concept, Some albums have musical themes, some have deliberately abstract beats for atmosphere.... its called art. As i said, just coz the beats are laidback ... does not make it boring. And no not all of them are laidback, "venomous villain", "vaudeville villain" albums were fast paced and angrier and more passionate in sound than the rest.
