Hurray! looks like those chumps up at sony are actully learnin how to use their brains. Sony finally announced that the ps3's price is finally droppin. This was obviously done out of an act of desparacy since the ps3's sales were very pitiful and needed to be risen. I ripped this from a site, read on if ur interested.

July 9, 2007 - Rumor has become truth this morning, as Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed that it will slashing the price of the 60GB PlayStation 3 model, while also introducing a new 80GB model in the US and Canada.

The 60GB version, previously priced at $599 US ($659 CND), has been lowered to $499 US ($549 CND) starting immediately. The 80GB SKU, already available in Korea, will ship on our side of the pond with MotorStorm packed in.

Sony also confirmed that it plans on shipping more than 120 new first and third-party games in North America throughout the holidays and fiscal year.

The new 80GB unit comes with MotorStorm in AND on the box."As we move into the next phase of PS3, it's important that we continue to evaluate our product line, offering consumers the technology and features that meet their growing needs for new forms of media and the way in which it is delivered," said Jack Tretton, president and CEO of SCEA. "The introduction of the 80GB PS3, the new pricing for the current 60GB model, the availability of more than 100 new software titles this fiscal year and, finally, the expansion of services for PlayStation Network, will provide even more options for users and will help bring new consumers into the PS3 fold."

Technologically, the 60GB and 80GB PlayStation 3s will be identical other than hard drive space. The 20GB model, has been discontinued in the US, as was reported earlier this year.


Pfffttt kinda sad though, their attempt wont help much and is just more of a waste of money. No matter wat they do they will still always be gettin kicked by Microsoft and Nintendo. The wicked rein of Sony is finally comin to a slow end...

When they do buy it though, they'll be playing games with superior A.I processing, immense story based games and will continue to play them for the next 4-5 years if not more.

i beat zelda 3 times on it and jsut used to aply it all the time

the thing that makes it BAD,terrible, horrible, ect...
is the fact that its making games for the general [Bad people] public. therfore their sales are high and they sell alot. As for the gamer population the Wii is terrible. not 1 good game has ome out since zelda and the only other good game announced is super smash bros brawl. So the only reason the wii is successful is becasue its fun, which is a good thing to have in games. But in order for games to be good they need to have a certain competitiveness and difficulty in them and the wii doesnt have that like the 360 and the ps3. than you have the graphics factor which i personlly dont realy care about but the wii's graphics still dont match up with xbox[1] or ps2. so lets stop backing up the Wii and come to my side and we can support the better of the three systems [360]

dude... i am so tired of arguin i dont know wat to say. But wat u said about there not bein good games, is a lloada bull. U cant just say stuff like that without actually knowin. And i can say the same thing about ps3, cuz i heard that numerous of times on game sites.

But hey man u hav a wii right? Well look if u wanna know good fun games to buy then i can giv u a whole list if u want, of games u shud look for and games that r comin out. look at wiisports,wiifit,all games based around the controller.

The only decent games (16+ aimed at young adults) the wii gets are ports from the ps2.

Fact is the only people who think the wii is decent ,game wise, are people who are so pissed they cant afford a xbox360 or ps3 they just cling to the hope.No third party developers want to touch the wii because many have stated that the controller is 'gimmic' so they just take ps2/gamecube games and add a lil control with the stick.

The only evolutional thing about the wii was its controller its game catalogue is the same old ninentdo kiddy tripe.
