i got agree with paid in full, it's not as complex as today's lyrics but it was a damn good album, but honestly i liked the 18th letter better, also quality was shit.. so yea it kinda ruined it for me.

i liked snoop dogg at the death row era
not long ago i saw on tv eric b and rakim's paid in full song and it didn't have much on it meaning that the video was all weird and stuff but i'll check them out

1) Doggystyle is a dope ass album, u ont have to be a fan of snoop to understand that, it just was.
2) About paid in full. Have u ever heard music in the 80's? Do you understand hip hop was underground in the 80's? Piad in full just couldnt be any better at that time, it still changed the game. Quality is but the least the concern.

Later rakim & erick b music. Now tell me this doesnt sound good.

Yes its in the OST of the movie, but the song is also on the "Don't Sweat The Technique" album as single.

its weird now, coz most people cant relate, (even though i still love that song), this song changed rap from this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etVdU4btauQ

to: more complex rhymes with multis, and "intelligent flow" concept, not just rhyming one word in a sentence.

and then Ra and Erick B changed the game even more with the "follow the leader" album in 1988, which only polished that style.

definately albums worth having.

So Eric B is the DJ and Rakim is the MC, right?
I listened to Paid In Full again and now I like it. :)

Yes, Rakim is the mc, Erick B is the dj, but Ra an Erick be don't work together no more since the mid ninetees. Back in the days, there were a lot of Rapper + DJ duos (eg: Pete rock & Cl smooth, Gangstarr.. etc)

I highly recomment downloading Rakims "18th letter" album, which is a double cd album, containing one album with new rakim songs (from 1997, so a new listener could relate easier) and the second cd is "best of" cd that has the best Erick B and rakim songs from at least 4 albums they did together.

get the 18th letter, sick as fuck, the only bad thing about it, is his flow is kinda repetitive, but other than that :y: :y: :y: :y: :y:
