also how do you take a screen shot of your desktop and things, ive got XP

Mmmmmm... there are many ways that you can use it. But if you download bsplayer (http://www.download.com). You intalled and all about it. You search option that capture the image.

and set buttons for the action

but u cant make videos longer than 30secs if its not registered

oh this is an easy one... if you have the video already you can simply open it with Windows Movie Maker and there should be a button which allows you take the screen shot of the scene of the video. Pretty simple and it shud be already on ur pc...
