A SCHOOLBOY died after an horrific attack in a Gourock house last night

Darren Pyper, aged 14, died during a shocking assault which left four injured, one seriously.

Three ambulances and six police vehicles rushed to the scene in 65 Ashton Road just after 7pm.

Darren’s pals at Gourock High, where he was a third-year pupil, choked back tears as they arrived for class this morning.

Some had to be comforted by teachers as they were being taken into school. One, who asked not to be named, said: “This is horrible.

“I can’t believe this has happened. I can’t take it in.”

Gourock High head teacher Christine Robertson was due to release a statement on the killing during the course of the morning, and pupils will be offered counselling.

Friends of Darren last night paid moving tribute to him on their online ProfileHeaven web page.

One poster, Heather Edgar, 15, of Gourock, said: “Always will love you, no matter what. Gone but never forgotten. Don’t believe he’s gone now with his life took away from him at the age of 14. Just can’t get over it.

“Darren, I know for a fact you’re always going to be in every single one of your mates’ hearts.

“All of us are always gonna love you and remember you for the fun and down to earth guy you were.”

A Morton supporters’ website also became a focal point for tributes.

One fan on http://www.greenockmorton.net messageboard wrote that they had known the tragic victim and paid tribute, describing him as ‘a kool wee guy’

A spokesman for Inverclyde Council told the Tele: “The school community is in shock and our hearts go out to the family involved in this tragedy.

“Pupils and staff at Gourock High School were informed of the incident today and everybody is very sad at what has happened. We have made arrangements to put in place a counselling service for pupils, parents and staff who may wish to talk. Additional psychological service support has also been provided.”

Police said they are following a ‘definite line of inquiry’.

no one knows fully what happened, there's a shit load of rumors flying around, the jist was, darren was in his mates house watching the footbal, when his mates dad and neighbour had an argument of some sort and then the neighbour came through the door stabbed the dad, the dads son, and darren, he got stabbed in the heart and died seconds after tyring to run for the stairs to get out

i aint sure but i think the guy who broke through the door also got injured of some sort coz there was supposedly more people infured

its really fucked though, but the proper story will be out when out local paper gets out (witch is around 1 oclock)

this is the world we live in people gotta face reality life's a bitch then u die so take everyday like its your last cuz u never know when its time to go..

but that does suck dyin' at a young age of 14 and for what for nothing thats fucked up but RIP to him and must suck for his friends and family its a sad story

nah the final story is still unclear, they got hotlines n stuff for anyone who may know something to what happened, but the 2 main people involved (40 and a 64 year old men) are the people the cops need to speak to but both are in critical condition still, the cops think it was one of them men who did it, good news is the other 14 year old boy who got injured was released from hospital and he's fine


@sarah, he disapeared without telling anyone were he was, hes came back now though, i was speaking to him yesterday, he's like a person with there eyes open but nothing inside if you know what i mean, like a zombie, its really sad to coz he lost his dad 6 months ago and now hes lost his son
