Royce is in the best moment of his career right now, many major artists want to sign him and he's finally getting some increasing exposure due to DJ Premier executive producing his next album and recent songs .

That rap battle was Royce chance at dramatically increasing his rep. and he EASILY could have wrote some shit and memorized it and win the battle with no effort.

But instead Royce remained true and battles the real MC way & for that he gets much respect.

Half the ignorant crowd didn't understand Royce's punches and they didn't even give him a chance, and ironically, Royce was getting booed and insulted at the same time he was spitting the illest verse.
