No mega-hit like Ridin from the last album... the first single never took off, Hip Hop Police got more play but nothin compared to some other songs.

yea i was suprised too. ultimate victory was good, but i think it didnt sell much for those reasons:

1. like iceaxe said, there was no mega-hit like ridin (altho i thought some songs on the album were better than ridin)
2. everyone spent their money either on graduation or on curtis or both so people didnt want to spend some on ultimate victory altho it was better than both
3. the album leaked a long time ago

i wish he goes platinum tho, i liked the album

If Cham had a) had a mega hit like ridin (though i think Hip-Hop Police is way better) and he should've jumped into the Kanye/50 album war, then more exposure for him. Such a shame. Also, like Bazz said, the album was out ages ago.

You could say the same shit for Twista (though adrenaline rush isnt as good)

its out on da 1st october in the uk and im gonna definitely buy it when it comes out here.......the album kills both curtis and graduation.......and i think its much better than sound of revenge.....this is a real shame....cos it means people are less likely to make albums like this again cos if the poor sales ultimate victory has received..

It's quite sad that Ultimate Victory leaked ages before its official release date, but Hip Hop ain't dead yet; not by a long shot. I think this is just a paradigm shift to give other countries to shine on the global Hip Hop stage. Hip Hop sales may be dropping in the US, but here, they are climbing monthly.

Hip Hop is the fastest growing genre in SA at the moment, so for African Hip Hop, there's still a lot to be explored.

after 6 weeks, Chamillionaire sold about 155,000 copies off of 1 single and no promotion, he seriously needs to drop a second single (which will be Industry Groupie) and maybe that will help him sell. If he goes gold, i'll be happy since the album is really dope
