Is Hip Hop Music Videos Dead? {POLL}

Postby Tornado » Oct 19th, '07, 16:00

Apart from Chamillionaire's "Hip-Hop Police", music videos this year (and for a while) have been a letdown. I dont think its only the songs, its the creative minds and low bugdet that fill MTV with same old snap-click rap bullshit. I remember an old Busta Rhymes vid "Gimme Some More". compare that to "Touch It Remix", its seems that innovation is gone.
I blame the singles they put out but i'm tired of typing

Lupe's Dumb It Down was good imo.

yeah Lupe and Talib were some good exceptions. Kanye has had some good ones too

but for the most part, yeah there's no innovation anymore. Every other (if not every) video is that same shit repackaged. But the directors have as much say over the videos as the artists too, so it falls on them sometimes too imo

I think Hip-Hop has been dead since maybe Chingy. But Underground had alot to offer back when 50 Cent and Dipset were poisoning Mainstream.
