I know I been gone for a minute (don't finish it please)

Postby James R. » Oct 16th, '07, 23:32

I haven't written in fucking forever, so today I decided I'd give it a shot. This is called Emotionless, written to the Emotionless beat by Jim Jones and Juelz. Flow is still a little choppy and I more or less remixed the hook but it's a 1st draft and I might be a little rusty. Anyways hope you enjoy.

Where my emotions derive
It only says that I need to ride
And don’t cry, I can’t cry
Cuz to live I know that I gotta rise
Cuz I’m always starin death in the eyes
And that’s where my emotions go blind
I don’t cry, I can’t cry

You never had to worry you’d lose ya man in my youth
I took my problems turned into superman in the booth
Never said I was the guy who’s cruisin past in a coupe
I don’t gotta front shit cuz I’m usin passion and truth
All the times I beat death; saw my future pass in my view
I’ll be doin all the shit they knew us bastards could do
I’m getting out the hood and I’m movin faster than you
Cuz I’m building up the hits you knew ya man would accrue
Couldn’t stand sayin here so I threw my plans into gear
Now my old fans sayin yo dude enhanced in the years
Chicks wanna get rich so they sue a man into tears
Hood rats on top, they too advanced and it’s weird
I question for the real and if you can answer it here
Where were you at shootin cats or in fear
Cuz that’s a common misconception that usin gats is a fact
In the street it don’t matter if you get clapped in the back

Where my emotions derive
It only says that I need to ride
And don’t cry, I can’t cry
Cuz to live I know that I gotta rise
Cuz I’m always starin death in the eyes
And that’s where my emotions go blind
I don’t cry, I can’t cry

People do a lot more to get fresh wit the timberlands
Grindin all night since you met Mr. Benjamin
Dealin with the fact that you stress just to get it in
Getting frustrated when you left with the hens again
Cops come and you play hide and seek in the trash can
Toss the work and run your grind leaked in the past man
Playin cards on the block but your mind peaked in the last hand
Jewels swingin heavy but you fly bleak in the cash damn
But it’s the dream, bein hood stuck a real thug
I guess that’s why the hood’s stuck with real thugs
No matter if I try I could never forget my roots
And remember it was me who wanted to get some boots
I didn’t buy the dream the purpose was still the truth
I rememberin bein broke, hurtin to feel a suit
And I’m still broke now but I’m worth like a million dudes
Cuz I’m real with myself and I work but I feel it too

Where my emotions derive
It only says that I need to ride
And don’t cry, I can’t cry
Cuz to live I know that I gotta rise
Cuz I’m always starin death in the eyes
And that’s where my emotions go blind
I don’t cry, I can’t cry

Your consistency in dropping very high standard quality rhymes is something everybody here can aspire to. You're rhymes are never anything short of impressive, great multi's and like Tash said, using simple language with no need for capitalised multi's or any shit like that, 'cos people can see right off the bat that you write lyrically adept rhymes. But you make it look easy and simple, the rhymes look basic, but that is what is so complex and intelligent about them. And also, you always write about something, which is something I don't do often enough, and can definitely improve on. Keep up the great work James! :y:
