Waterboarding USA Discussion (Poll)

Postby rlxhustlr » Dec 20th, '07, 18:15

Water Boarding D

Water boarding is a practice that has been around for centuries. It was a popular interrogation method used during the Italian Inquisition of the 1500's and was also a common practice in the Cambodian prisons during the brutal Khmer Rouge regime during the 1970's. In November of 2005, the CIA had this technique approved as an enhanced interrogation technique, only to be used against high value terror suspects.

This topic has become an important issue in the united states about wheather or not we should use this form of interrogation to get information from the bad guy....remeber waterboarding doesnt kill the person but instead brings them close to death...in the processs of getting valuable information of suspected high value terror...im neather for it or against it....

what do you all think about the topic?
dont make some smart comments unless you really know about how its used....

It's stimulated drowning.
Which is torture.
and torture= against the Constitution and also illegal

plus, the house passed a bill banning water boarding recently although it may be vetoed.

I'm undecided.

While it is torture I guess if theres a bomb about to go off in L.A and they can either waterboard and get the information or do nothing and let millions die Idk, seems hard not too do that. On the other hand though if you give the CIA or whoever that power it could be abused and lead to U.S interrogation being brutal torture, which wouldn't be good either.

So I guess I will probably get flamed for this but I wouldn't endorse it or recommend it but if they really need it and it will save lives I wont be one of the people upset over it.
