Of course. I've felt that, but i can't help but catch myself on living up to the idealism, regardless of how hard i try to mask it with non-conformism.

I think its more simpler though.

Since we are animals(even though we believe we are not), we seek to fulfill our primary objective, = to mate, produce offspring, dominate, to give on the best features to our gene pool, thus every male on this planet planet subconsciously searches for a female with some fine fine, child bearing hips, a job(prey) to bring money(food) to our house(cave). Every woman, = to be fed, protected, and a male that would be the best candidate to bear offspring from.

This simplified unspoken ideal rules the world, its the very reason we breathe, there has never been another, and never will.

you got the basics, that asp explained, and yeh everything revolves round these one way or another, some people do it quietly and some to it extravagently, you even got the core animal reactions every day, one animal comes into anothers territory so the animal gets intimidated and fight begans. i can bet everyone see's that shit when there out in a friday night, one guy gets intimidated by the other and a fight starts through fear of his space getting invaded...well thats how i see it.

but it also aint that simple, we are animals yes, im a beileiver of thatm smart animals but still got the basics that every animal has/needs.

but were a animal would live to chase these basic needs, we got ambition for more.

i dunno if your classing this as idealism, but the ambition to chase for something isnt a basic need, its something different. i wouldnt say your whole life is lived just chasing something, coz if your lucky even if you dont fufill your dreams you live satasifed that you tried and if your really lucky you got the joy of a family.

so to say everything revolves around chasing money or power, i disagree, alot of people do but id probly say more dont, its just that the people who chase power ect. all there life end up being the more extravagant one's (bush, blair ect.)

as in more chase a happy life with a couple of kids gran kids nice retirement and then a peaceful death.

nice posts...

Basically I take it AspirnE is a happy camper and Bar is more of a climber!!

The climber's take more risks but they either succeed, retire or burn out...

I think we all have a bit of climbing skills in us.

Overall, I think how we perform these actions whether it be mating, chasing, setting down our roots, building, dreaming and achieving is the pieces that over time creates an impact on our society and is what establishes our culture...

Recently I watched a program about life and death... the program showed me that there's more misterious than sures on that question... I think God created us to have somethin' to care, cuz He doesn't need us, but we need Him. Maybe just a test to see what somethin' He created would be right or wrong (actually, I think most of us are right, but the wrong rules, it's fuckin' baaaad)...
About idealism.. that's somethin good that most of us don't have... most of us live the life as a succession (that's the right word? :o ) of facts.
I believe life is a big challenge gave to us, weak normal persons, cuz He wants to discover if our soul is able or not to live with Him. I don't believe too much in reincarnation, but maybe be true He wants to give another chance to a soul that missed ya true way with drugs, sins, and another bad things. :8)
