Plan B

Anyone heard him yet, he really started to get going in 2005, and looks like Britain finally have a white rapper to be truly proud of, this guy just has an originality about him, raps sings and plays guitar. His lyrics are immense and he is being widely compared to a British Eminem. Although that might not be justified no one can deny this 21 year old kid has talent.

I've never liked UK Hip-Hop, but after a fellow hip-hop fan who's taste in music I respect, recommended I check Plan B out, I decided to give him a listen. I was blown away, the accent which was one of my problems with UK hip-hop, didn't bother me in the slightest. He has some great concepts, strong lyrics and brilliant music. I love the acoustic aspect, it sounds great to me, and contrary to Bar's opinion, I think he flows perfectly to the rhythm of the guitar. You don't need drums or percussion to have a beat. Strumming a guitar can give you a rhythm and tempo, and if your vocals match that music's tempo, you'r flow is very much on point. I also think the acoustic sound gives him more originality, although his lyrics are fairly original anyway. I also like that he has done homage's of some of the best American rappers, he has done a great song written backwards like Nas's "Rewind", and written another one with split personalities, very much like Eminem's "Guilty Conscience", but with his own spin on it. As I said, I see these as an homage to great lyricists, rather than plageurism. He did them in his own way with his own very distinct style.

I love Plan B's music, and I`m as eager to hear any of his new music, as I am any American rappers releases, Eminem included.
