if you follow sway you most likely know all the roumours about him and konvict records. my question is do you think itdd be a good thing or bad thing getting a UK artist on one of the US record labels as big as konvict ?

I don't know how it could hurt, and if he got big here, it would open the door for more UK rappers.

It couldn't hurt too much as long as the label lets him do his thing and not try to change the formula just because of the audience.

It'd be interesting to see what kind of reception he'd get over here. He could take away attention from the south/bad rap in general (a big plus), or everyone could be like "what the fuck is this British shit?" and ignore him.

yeh another good thign that could happen, i know for sure alot of Uk guys would hate and probly diss sway as soon as it was announced he was signed to konvict just coz alot of UK artist are far to close minded when it comes to major labels ect. but on the other side if he released a album from konvict, hes gonni have Akon and Chamillionaire on the album featuring, those 2 are definites coz cham and sway already did some stuff together and praise each other alot and are generally freinds, and akon coz its his label, both those guys have HUGE profiles in the US, so thatd be sick to coz alot of people would check it out just because its got cham on it or akon on it lol

itll be itnresting to watch what happens if it happens lol

i quite agree with Bar. it's a chance for Sway to gain more publicity in USA and also for UK rap to break through. no need to explain, that collaborating with Akon or Cham would help him. i'm just not sure if i wanna hear an Akon/Sway collab :-k

If Sway can keep the content fresh and original, and not be taking into the Stereotypical American Rap Culture, this can be a changing point in hip-hop history as others such as Plan B and Akala could break through

I think he redefined should, Sway is smart enough to use this position well and I can only imagine it doing good for UK Hip Hop. Sway gives off the impression of being smarter and lyrically more talented then 80% of US Rappers and if anyone should be given the opportunity to represent UK Hip Hop on a global scale, you can't go far wrong with picking Sway.

if he dusnt sign for a big US label, hes never gonna make it big and universal like he wants to....

quoting sway - "i aint giving up till im major".

well this is one of the only realistic ways thats gonna happen. Akon can be ok depending who he collabs with but I don't think a Sway and Akon collab would work. Sway and Chamillionaire collab was awesome on Up Your Speed so look forward to more of that

i agree about akon n sway collab being weird coz on sways albums and ep's he has certain beat styles and akon just couldnt sing on one of them so it would mos tlikely be a konvict beat witch just wouldnt work imo

and yeh up your speed part 2 was awesome, and im like 90% sure them 2 will defiantly make more tracks together coz right now sway is chamillionaires supporting act and hype man on his tour

The only thing is that he's signed with Konvict, would T-Pain be on the album coz he would ruin sways song, especially on a uk beat aswell
